Many stories are born from a simple question: "What would happen if?" You can place any concept, even the craziest one, after the question mark and think about how the resulting idea follows. In most cases (about eight out of ten), nothing comes out of it, but it turns out to be funny in the remaining two. That's how this story came to life. Damn, that “bag” needs closing, and quick! Kinda too bad humans decided to “study war no more” as certain kinds of very high-energy weapons systems would be ideal for dissipating a space-time anomaly like that. Maybe tow a black hole through it?

I must admit that I was inspired (to some extent) by the short story by Larry Niven called "The Warriors", the introductory piece of the Man/Kzin wars series. But I added my own twist to that, making the aliens not really that much alien )
