Great fishing trip!. Fat 46! Just a couple of suggestions after 35 years of fishing muskies - Don't reel up so close to the tip of the rod when you have a fish on and are going to the net. That gives the fish leverage to pull the bait. More line out - like a couple feet maybe - let's the rod do the work and provides some give. Still keep the line tight just not so short. This leads to tip #2 Instead of trying to scoop the fish, more line out allows you to put the net deeper and guide the fish into the net without the rod tip getting in the way. Scooping lots of times leads to half the fish hanging out of the net and most of the time the fish falls out of the net not into it. Especially big fish. For what it's worth. Again, great trip and you guys really have the boat side strikes down well. Lots of guys get surprised that the strike happens and lose the fish.

Nice fish. I just watched one of your older vids where you caught a pa bowfin, where was that?
@absoluteunitmedia3 ай бұрын
Not sure…I’ve caught them a few places in PA. The PA fish and boat commission published biologist reports where you can see what lives in which lakes…I just entered Bowfin and searched here: www.fishandboat.com/pages/search.aspx

Why do river musky seem so much more selective than lake musky?
@absoluteunitmedia4 ай бұрын
I don’t musky fish the river enough to know, but fish location is definitely more complicated with changing water levels and currents. It seems s super hit-or-miss….like either there’s no musky activity or there’s a bunch of big fish in a small area and you can’t believe it

Every waterbody is different. My area I would say it’s the exact opposite. River fish a lot easier to trigger if you can find them.

Yes, my pb is 54”. But I don’t see fish like that very often. Still a relative beginner, I’ve caught less than 100
