Something Interesting Speaking a white mans language? Did you write the white mans languages or are you taking that accomplishment for your own to make yourself feel better? Do you want a cookie or something? People usually speak the language of the country that has colonized them, borderline kidnapped them, or people moved to willing. Foreign races living as residents in other countries will inevitably cause them to speak the main language in order to assimilate. This happens all over the world with different languages. I've been living in Korea for the last 2 years and girl I know just how it feels with picture taking and STARING!!! I'm a 5'9 black girl so I'm kinda tall as well. Although in Korea I don't get the picture taking as much but you do get the stares and they dont back down girl. But if i travel to any other neighbouring Asian countries the picture taking and touching is out of the world. It's mostly Chinese tourists too which who you were dealing in Hoi An. People have to understand that in Asian countries and Arab countries most people look the same. When They see something different it attracts them. Not all of them have ill will. I have had this experience with Russian, Turkish and Asian people. They like to take pictures and sometimes you can just tell they want to touch you because they want to see if your skin colour will come off. Some people you will meet come from small villages. Sometimes they don't even see black people on tv.

I went to Cambodia to work in a hospital as a midwife for 1 month this august ( I'm Black British) and had a very similar experience. However I did not not feel one bit uncomfortable, the stares I received were of generous curiosity and I was asked many questions and thanked for coming to their country to help out. A lot of the Cambodian's I spoke to expressed to me how they do not get to visit other countries (especially in the Western Hemisphere) due to finance etc, so when they see someone else they are generally intrigued. Asian mannerisms are not the same as British or American mannerisms (completely different cultures and ways of life in each country). Much love, those offended - please get out and explore the world if possible, not everything has racist intentions behind it.

When you understand they are truly fascinated, memorized, and captivated there is no need to be annoyed or upset. These cultures rarely see anyone that doesn't look like themselves. Chante is absolutely stunning!!! This happens to everyone who doesn't look like them. Especially people of darker complexions. Plus she's visably taller than most of them! 😜 I have friends from Thailand who are absolutely stunned at my darker complexion friends. They always comment how they would be so loved in their country because of their dark skin. It's truly fascinating for them. So to see comments about people gawking being rude at how mad they would be, I say some people need to grow up and explore life outside of their own bubble. Everybody's life isn't like yours. I thought it was beautiful how much another culture could appreciate our melanin. All of you are gorgeous and I'm glad you are exploring the world!!!!😍♥

No they are not being rude, they just don’t see black people in the flesh in that part of the world so the black person is intriguing to them. Imagine seeing a green person, you would naturally stare because it’s not ordinary. That’s all that is. I travelled to China several times for work & they stared all the time. They have very pure hearts. No bad intentions.

Kay Flip girl some people just want to rest in their ignorance. Cuddle with it, have tea & cakes with it, yet never allowing the more empowering (& also easiest) route to be the one that they opt to follow. Most black people (I am black) relish in the perpetuation of often unsubstantiated racism & segregation. Sone people love the feeling of being a victim. Like we are telling you these people mean no harm & they want to insist they do, with absolutely no basis except to them, being black almost exclusively commands racism. Racism is alive largely in yall’s minds! If you always go looking for something guess what...? Yep you’ll always find it.
