Former Olympic shooter here. Tusuf Dikecs was a household name for us Olympic shooters back in the 90s. He was a soldier, competed in CISM (military Olympic style) matches during his prime, and set some world records. The difference between CISM and ISSF (Olympics) matches is that CISM matches are fired with centerfire guns, wheras Olympics have slowly watered down to .22 rimfire and. 177 air guns since the 80s

Trying to push Türkiye in English causes misspellings like Turkiye, TURKIYE etc. which are against Turkish spelling rules and impossible to be spelled and pronounced in English like that in Turkish. Some nationalist impostors are experts on make an ass of themselves and shooting themselves in the foot. Many Turks including me use Turkey when they write/speak English, with the perception of importance of Turkish's rules and historical context of name Turkey.

The real question is, why isn't the US winning all the shooting medals? The american gun nuts seem to be a buncha posers. People from countries where they aren't even allowed to own guns are kicking america's ass.

Because you dont shoot with AR-15s in those competitions. Also americans prefer live moving targets (people) to shoot at, stationary paper targets dont cut it.
