As a black man, I'm embarrassed and disgusted someone like Brooke, who clearly didn't watch the actual full interview is allowed to speak on something so poorly. As black people we cannot afford to demonize the people who try and help us just because they aren't black. Last election Bernie dealt with the same thing and is also dealing with it currently. Any black person could've said what Marianne Williams just said, ever so eloquently I might add, and she would've been perfectly fine with it. Brooke is embarrassing and I've long awaited her removal from the panel. If it's just about a black person being on the show, anyone else will do but her.

I typically enjoy Brooke's perspective, but I think that she misses Marianne's point. To recognise that the Left has its particular brand of sanctimonious virtue-signalling - parasitically drawing life from discourse on issues of social injustice - need not be to the detriment of recognising also that it is broadly the Left advocating on behalf of minorities and the oppressed in US politics. Therefore, it is not false equivalence to acknowledge that the conversation in search of social justice for all groups can be undermined by those who accuse any on the other side of a substantive disagreement of racism, etc. We all know who the bad guys are, so let's focus also on holding to account those in our own ranks in order to more effectively fight social injustice.

I agree, but please try to be understanding and that for a lot of black people b/c of the constant push back from society to not take our issues seriously, a lot of black people just don't believe when someone outside their race says that they "get it" and some times that person might truly "think" they get it but still say/do/think things that contribute to the institutionalize racism in US society but not even know it themselves b/c you know it is institutionalized lol. So yeah I think Brooke jumped the gun/probably didn't do her research, but there is a reason for her beliefs and many think the way she does b/c of those reasons.

I disagree with Brooke's comments. Before she sits at the table, she should research the subject matter, then make appropriate statements based on her research. At the second debate, it was Marianne's comments about reparations which prompted Kamala Harris to challenge Biden and his stance on busing. So Marianne is a winner in my book. And she would make a great president.

I think this is the very first time I highly disagree with the way TYT has covered a story. The fact that Brook Thomas didn't watch the full interview ahead of time really made this go all so very WRONG!!! She based her opinion on what happened on a small clip without the full context of what Marianne did. The way Marianne handled Dave Rubin is something we should all aspire to. She called him out on his crap but did it in a kind and loving way. She took the time to try to explain to him over and over the historical context of the issues. Out of all the candidates, Marianne Williamson is the only one not only calling for reparations but has a plan on how to do it. This was all missed by a knee jerk reaction from Brook who quickly decided that Marianne was wrong without watching the full video ahead of time. I expect better from TYT. Please, redo this story with everyone watching the full video ahead of time. Shame, shame,shame, shame......

Marianne didn't legitimize rubin or his show by going on it, she challenged him and showed us how to do that. She came out of it extremely successful in articulating this true point that institutionalized racism needs to end. It's a shame Brooke was not at all in the right mind to assess this. It is incredibly unfair considering how strong and powerfully Marianne would be able to heal this whole issue so we no longer have to argue about the minutiae driven by anger, and can finally live together peacefully with love and respect.

Also, keep in mind Dave Rubin is already legitimate with over million followers on KZbin and he's pretty popular amongst the right wing Circle and he does speaking tours. Like it or not he has been pretty successful and legitimize already. Marianne Williamson represented Progressive ideas in a masterful way. Because there is something to be said about the false moral equivalence between left-wing snowflakes vs right-wing snowflakes. The left-wing snowflakes are concerned about lack of justice and compassion for minorities, whereas the right-wing snowflakes Marriane was specifically talking about are concerned about foreigners coming into the country and replacing the white majority. These concerns are not equally legitimate and clearly the left-wing snowflakes have better intentions. She also doesn't like that Marriane didn't re-define racism into the broader context she mentioned. I could have agreed with her if it was a conversation with certain other audiences, but when talking to a right-wing audience - responding by using *their* definition is a better way to reach out to them. Definitely some over-sensitivity on her part, but she isn't as blinded by feelings as one might imagine

This is very poor journalism on Brooke’s part. She is taking one sentence that Marianne said and interpreting it in a stereotypical way, without researching what Marianne means by it. Marianne knows from experience that white people have gone from being opposed to reparations to being FOR reparations after learning the facts of history. This is what Marianne has been doing with people throughout her campaign, so she has witnessed it time and time again. Her goal is to educate people on this topic. Brooke is putting words in Marianne’s mouth that she never spoke to justify her stance that Marianne is saying only extreme racists are racists. I know this happened years ago but a point I will make is that that interview on Dave Rubin's channel has 240k views. If you look at the comments section, it's filled with (hopefully former) Rubin fans who hadn't been exposed to those kinds of argument before, and felt like 1) she killed it, 2) Dave was actually kind of a clown, and 3) it was worth checking out more content on the broader Left. I'm not saying 100% of what Marianne Williamson had to say was on-point (as someone who's lived in 8 US states including both coasts, the Midwest, Texas, the South, and a crossroads state like Pennsylvania, I can say that racism still has a firm hold in the personal views of many, many Americans), but I view the objections of by Ana and the other host as...gatekeeping. That's exactly what it is. To build power, you (pretty much by definition) have to engage with people who disagree with you. Marianne actually deftly addresses this in all kinds of interviews online (she had a brilliant one with Vaush very recently: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYaTl4WEepykm6s). This whole "let's purity test our way out of all of our issues" is frankly a little idiotic and one of the reasons the Left hasn't gotten anywhere in the last decade. Not TYT's finest work.

I initially thought she was weird after seeing her debate performance, but I developed a lot of respect for her and her intellectual prowess for articulating racism from a historical, criminal, socio-economic approach, while elucidating Rubin’s ignorance. She never suggested that she only quantifies racism by overt measures. Maybe that wasn’t so hard to accomplish after seeing how ignorant Rubin is. She a small candidate with an important message, so I think she did the right thing by going on that show. She probably certainly contributed to someone's deprogrammation there.
