I live in Florida so maybe its not the same every where , but eat for less than 100 dollars a month. Not processed crap. Not pre-packaged stuff. For Big mac in my area its 4.50 before taxes. just for the sandwich. People eat that crap every day and many claim its because they cannot afford high quality food. Fast foodand pizza makes up way to large of percentage of peoples diets. @b1bbscraz3y5 жыл бұрын
@thesatanic6 lmao I could read the first part of the comment from my notifications. I am noting the actual fact that whatever information you learn, your conscience will respond with specific emotions whether you try to or not. if someone tells you your brother was shot, you will automatically respond internally whether you choose to or not. never once did I give "value" to the feelings of anyone either lmao. just stating that fact, ironically, don't care about your feelings
@b1bbscraz3y5 жыл бұрын
@thesatanic6 I never took away a distinction between feeling a certain way about something, and acting on those feelings. I have clearly stated that how a person feels about something will influence what they think about it. regardless if they act or not. exactly why I said "if a person truly does not care about the death of others and in fact can look in the face of people with dead loved ones and show disinterest, their actions will reflect that and historically shows that the acts will be repeated". if someone responds with indifference, it is very likely the acts will be repeated even if not by those exact people. imagine if after the Holocaust Germany did nothing in restitution. if instead of doing what they did, Germany chose to ignore the realities of what happened and simply dismiss it because the new German government officials were not personally responsible. imagine if Germany did not ensure that every generation afterwards learns about the Holocaust. it is much more likely something similar may happen again, but at the very least there would still be a sense of underlying tension for not committing to restitution. the same way when I tell people about the actual history of the US, and they use their feelings towards the US in response to demonstrate some dismissal of factual documented history. I'm sorry to tell you, but the fact that the United States funded and armed the Mujaheddin eventually becoming the Taliban and Al Qaeda, and subsequently the US funded and armed Osama bin Laden, these facts simply don't give a damn how you feel about the United States. I'm sorry to tell you, but the fact that the United States currently funds and arms terrorist groups like Isis and Al Nusra, simply doesn't give a damn how you feel about the United States. I literally just got done discussing these same historical facts with a right wing friend of mine from high school. they began with mentioning Iran shooting down the US drone and whether we should respond or not. I had to mention the context of US-Iranian relations, such as the facts that the US illegally interfered with Iranian elections, illegally funded and supported Saddam Hussein to invade Iran, illegally act towards Iran and violate international law. these facts simply do not care about how my friend feels about the United States. these acts are illegal by any account

She was really nice, and more reasonable than most of the Dem candidates. The main issue though is that she is sharing false information, and Dave didn't challenge her on that. I don't think she willingly or intentionally shared false information. That just goes to show how far these lies have spread though. Politico even called AOC out on the idea that several people are working multiple jobs. The number of people working multiple jobs has been on a drastic decline over the years..... Also, she doesn't understand that only approx. 2.6% of the population work minimum wage...........
@WhetiesOfDoom5 жыл бұрын
@@jamesgiles8075 her point is that the minimum wage isn't enough to support someone, she never made a specific claim to how many people are on it. And even if the number is low, that doesn't seem like a reason to not try and fix the problem. If 2.6 were dying of a disease or drought or whatever, you'd hopefully still want to do something about it. She believes that the minimum wage as is leads to suffering and therefore wants to minimize that suffering as best she can. It's a logical position to have based on the premise.

it's a shame that so many people are disliking this video. regardless of if you like her or not this is the "marketplace of ideas" that Dave said he would uphold when he started the channel. personally I stopped watching a lot of rubin's interviews for a while because he covers the same topics and uses the same talking points with all guests, but I'm glad I watched this because the guest was refreshing

Kem Wills I guess I'm not a fan of people disliking videos just because they disagree with the guest. It affects the video's ability to be recommended, which hurts views, and sends a message to Dave that he should change something. The last time he pushed back against a guest was when Larry Elder told him racism wasn't an issue in America. Dave didn't feel comfortable trying to argue about it, so he felt forced to accept Larry was right, and did. Which is how we got where we are now.

feelings Are Not Arguments it was the spanish who began the idea enslaving people based on the color of their skin. it was american culture that began the idea that if you’re whiter, you’re better. yes absolutely slavery existed before. but that doesn’t apply to american culture, we concern ourselves. she talks constantly about the vices and virtues of american history. she has always said “yes we’ve had slavery, but we also had abolitionists.” and that enshrines a light on a great aspect of american history and the american spirit of rebelling against the status quo

@RARAYAYA RAA Reparations, for starters.
@evilblackcat63575 жыл бұрын
@RARAYAYA RAA "What other policy has been shown to work historically in bringing systemically oppressed groups out of poverty?" - Freedom. Thought that was obvious. As for reparations: as a policy it is not only completely impractical, but likely an empty campaign promise to stem the tide of blacks no longer voting Democart. It is in one's rational self interest to refuse any unearned guilt for past circumstances wholly outside of one's control based upon unchangeable physical characteristics. Then there's the cases of purpose, efficacy, enactment, and inevitable repercussions. What purpose does this ultimately serve? To satiate those blacks that aren't successful? To quell social/racial tensions? Or is it a yet unexplored government handout to ensure votes? Efficacy: there's no evidence to suggest this will improve lives or quell tensions. I'd argue the opposite. You can't steal from Peter to pay Paul and call it morality, and it's sure as anything going to piss off Peter. Also, do you honestly believe reparations will finally resolve some people's victimhood status and we can all then collectively put slavery behind us? Enactment: who will have to pay? Just white people? The rich (again)? What if it's a rich black person? What about people of mixed race like myself? Do I get to only pay half? What about people that came to this country long after slavery? If it's just white people then when they file their taxes will they then have to claim based upon race? If so, that's textbook discrimination. And who receives the reparations? All black people? Only those who's ancestors could be proven to be slaves? What of those of mixed race? Do you get a % based upon heritage? Will the government need to start recording mandatory genealogy of its citizens to track who's who? The government will certainly need to create yet another department to handle all this which will likely cost billions in taxes itself each year to maintain. Inevitable repercussions: do you honestly think it will stop at just blacks? Any citizen who feels they were historically wronged by the government will now have a legitimate claim for reparations. It will open up the floodgates for demands for handouts. This will solidify the Democratic Party's power as all they have to do is promise more handouts to retain power, which they've been doing for decades. And what do you think will happen to those that refuse to pay reparations? What if the best, brightest, and most productive of us no longer see the point in being so if it only gets taken from you to give to someone who did not earn it based upon some past atrocities unrelated to you and outside your control? Another thing is, because I used to live in shitty neighborhoods, what happens to the money received? Assuming it's a first of the month payout, or even yearly, most people will squander it straight away. Thugs and thieves will know when payday is too and you'd best believe a lot of people will get robbed. The economy will also balance itself out almost immediately to compensate; rent and utilities, goods and services, all of it will go up in price. If it will be paid in more social services, well, you can take a look at the current structure and see how that's worked out. Chicago spends a truckload on the public school system, for starters, and, as a former student of them, they are absolute shitholes. Please tell me where and when all of these concerns have been addressed. I'll save you the time; they have not, and don't even try to dismiss them as being hyperbolic as they are not. If you try to I'll ask you to support your claim.
