+zazelby Aha, I see. According to IMDb, it actually is from 1986, but it wasn't aired until 1992. That fits both the character design and the voice cast (it basically looks and sounds like Marvel's other 1980s cartoons).

And just to add a little more: Solarman was created by a guy named David Oliphant for Pendulum Press way back in 1979, and he's also the Executive Producer for this cartoon (as well as having a "Solarman Character Created by" credit) And, despite his dalliance with Marvel, David still owns the character. He just had a redesigned version of the character published in Scout Comics last year. (Gone is the bright yellow hair, for one thing - Ben Tucker is now an African-American teen hacker rather than a white comic book geek, and he appears to not have a separate "super" form) So far, it's also only made it to two issues.

Yea it actually was released on VHS in 1989 to accompany the Solarman comic book from Marvel Comics which I think only lasted 2 issues. The one episode/movie only lasts around 22 minutes but must have had a few extras thrown in because it gets listed as 38 minutes long. This pilot was actually done in 1986 but the series never happened & Fox Kids block only showed it one time I think back in 1992.

But Marvel has revived the X-Men animated series of the 90s as X-Men '97, maybe they can also revive the Solarman animated pilot as a full proper animated series call "Solarman '93". But there could be a little problem if they want to revive it as a full proper animated series, Solarman would battle Gormagga Kraal and Doctor Doom as the series's villains. That won't be good for him fighting the same two villains in further episodes.
