Escape Window Regulator Replacement & Repair 2013-2017 Right Front

I just did this repair on my 2013 Ford Escape. I did the the front driver's side. One issue I had was there are two versions of the left front window assembly unit - one anti-pinch which has a 6 pin connector and without anti-pinch which is a 2 pin connector. I ordered the wrong one but O'Reilly's took it back and ordered the correct one for me. The complete assembly (motor and rails) cost me $65. Overall, the repair took me about 2 hours. Thank you so much for making this video. I had never done this repair before would not have attempted it until I watched this.

This is a good video! Is there a special suction cup you use for the glass? I’m a somewhat mechanically inclined female but I’m not sure I’d attempt this without a partner in crime. How much do you suppose it would cost to take something like this to a non-dealer shop. Ballpark. $250??

I have like a 16 escape thats window is stuck down, wont roll up, makes a weird grinding sound when trying to roll it up, ill bookmark this video when i get around to working on it.

Replaced it fine, can’t figure out why the electrical plug doesn’t clip in nor does the window go up fast. Reason I replaced it was cause it wasn’t going up fast and sometimes had to pull with my hand to assist, replaced it and having the same issue with the new one. No idea why.

try lightly spraying the 2 up and down channels with a small bit of wd40. And judge this with the engine running.

I just installed a brand new Ford Regulator and motor on my driver's side. It was very easy to do. However, when I push the button down, the window goes up and when I push it up it goes down. ???

Polarity reversed on the replacement part. Just swap the wires that go to the motor.

@@PowerUpAuto There 6 wires in it. Turns out it was the back of the motor with the magnets was on backwards. I turned it around(180 degrees) and it was fixed. Now can't get the auto motor programmed. It will go down a few inches at a time.

What sucks is that I purposely bought Ford products so I wouldn't have any issues. I've probably changed 500+ regulators and motors and never had any problems like this.

Once you disconnect the glass from the regulator, is it possible to remove and replace the window glass by simply pulling it out the top of the door frame or is there additional belt trim that has to be removed to replace the window?

glass comes out at an angle but pretty easy

Hard as hell to pull the panel out. Any specific way of pull the panel off once all screws are gone.

No, panel pulls off easily. Not sure why you have a problem.
