Can’t go wrong with Apex. I’ve got that exact same wheel setup (18x8.5 +45 and 18x9.5 +58) on my F22 M240i with 3mm spacers all around. I have the EC-7s and I got them powder coated a dark charcoal gray. Definitely a nice OEM+ fitment even on the 2. If anyone cares to see, I have a vid on my channel showing them off.

I love Apex wheels with Micheline s sport tires on the 1 series. 18" is the best. Nice look. I prefer 35s in the rear. it drops the rear of the car a little, making it look more level.

ARC-8 are a classic! I'm sure you know this, but the sidewall height (35 vs 40 profile) is a % of the tire width. So that 265/40 has ~1/2 inch taller sidewall than 235/40, and is why it looks kinda ballooned/extra meaty, ran into rubbing issues, etc.. A 265/35 and 235/40 actually have nearly identical sidewall heights, and that's why it's a more common pairing (or 275/35 for extra meat + width), but I appreciate you doing you 👍

I guess you like a fatter tire in the rear though, I thought you were implying you liked the front/rear "even" and that's why you went with the 40 in the rear vs. 35 🙌

If you look at my m4, I’m running 275/35 and 305/35 however, they look even. I previously ran a 30 in rear and it looked odd. Michelin sidewalls just look different once you cross from 30/35 and 40.

I think you should have gone to 19's. They look ok but 18's look too small and the sidewall is way to high. Nothing wrong with spacers. They really make the car look more aggressive without anyone really knowing why....
