This was a very good review. I was considering getting the hype 2 as an upgrade to the Chopin. However given the imminent release of the hype 4 and blessing 3:Dusk I'm going to hold off. Tony I'm hoping you will get to review hype 4 and B3D when they come out because I love the level of details you gave and the comparison you do are fantastic.

You and I bought these right around the same time. Mine had the rattle/weird reverb in my ear issue. I swapped them out with Linsoul via Amazon and got a 100% perfect replacement I think it's 100% true about the "just turn up the volume", I also have found that just adding some power helps too. I switched from my Moondrop Dawn 3.5mm DAC/AMP to the Fiio KA17 and it really made these things wake up.

Hey Akros, a lot of new iems would be great if you review a few of the cheaper ones like the new Aria 2. Then you could do an awesome recommendation video of 7 iems. $20, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500. Probably 98% of the population can afford this range. Again would be a must watch video!!!

Great review! I tried these and they sound really good unfortunately i returned them mainly because they were very big for my ears. My blessing 3 is a lot more comfortable and i get a deeper insertion.

#1179 here and it's not at all 'hype' but an excellent IEM. It was definitely a bold naming and probably should've been named Hyper2 instead, being an acronym for High Performance 2-for either the driver types or configurations, not sure. It's too bad they seemed to have rushed units out, which some had a problem, although I've never been one to tap any of my IEMs lol Thieaudio are are least addressing these issues. Not shilling here, just a customer

@@fabiojungle4722 Hype2 is definitely more like the Mk3, I have all three of these. It's also a 2xDD, and bass on the Hype2 is like the Monarch Mk3, but even stronger. Both Mk3 and Hype2 have significantly stronger bass than the Mk2. Hype2, to the point it can be verging on too much sometimes, the Mk3 keeps it more under control and is preferable (but also 3x the $). Monarch Mk2 is far more neutral.

I would love to know how do these compare to your fav isn neo5. They are at 260 right now 10 cheaper than this. Would you still consider neo 5 to be bass king probably but how do they compare in every other aspect? Soundstage? Imaging? Mids & treble & ofc sub & bass.

The fact you didnt feel the need to change cable says a lot, don´t remember what was the last time i saw a set with stock cable being reviewed here. I see all the rest on this stack have improved custom cables so lets believe the hype 2 also has room to grow with one of those bling-bling connectors you use.

Yes I guess if you find the right cable the Hype can be made that little extra bit special. Going to give a try with my IVIPQ Graphene cable ....usually works very well.... tightens things up a little.

The Kiboom is a good set but you cannot compare to Hype Bass is not as textured and Mids especially are not as smooth and silky I would take the Yume2 any day over the Evoke if I wanted a conventional 1+2 Hype2 is just another step above

Disappointing failure to compare vs. several obvious IEMS, such as Neo 5, Penon Serial, and Yanyin Canon (I and II), just to name a few. I guess if wanting to limit the comparisons to IEMs with a bass tuck, mission accomplished, but it leaves too much room for questions. For the price and feature set, the Canon(s) seem like the most obvious omission(s) to me. As informative as your reviews usually are, your choice of comparisons is sometimes bewildering, leaving out those that surely you should know will be asked about in the comments... ah, maybe that's why. Hmmm.....
