I think its based on if a player has played 3 torches so if the opponent summon darkness and u some how stole his torches and played them u then copy the darkness its will not be dominant?

When I was at rank 20 this month, there were a ton of bot players with basic card zoo decks on ladder. The greatest thing is when I played The Darkness its dormant effect screwed with the bots' programming, and they roped every turn afterward.

agreed.the dormant and active states should have separated tokens, just like sherazim. This kinda thing is confusing and un-intuitive. There is no way to know this interaction beforehand.

It's clearly not a bug. Even the text of the card makes it easy to spot. Starts dormant - When Faceless copied The Darkness, it obviously started dormant. Battlecry: Shuffle the candles - Clearly states that the dormant effect is not part of the battlecry. I don't think it should be this way, the 20/20 should be able to be copied, but there's no bug.

Its a bug, but most people know this by now. That card has 2 triggers, one when its played it shuffles the candles into opponents deck and 2 when it actually hits the board it goes dormant. If its copied or cubed or w/e it won't get the trigger for the candles because the card wasn't played normally. It was designed that way to stop several unfair combos and weird interactions. Its even worse if you evolve a minion and get the darkness, you lose that minion and a board slot and its like a 1 in how many ever 4 mana minions there are and its not like you can control unstable evolution.

wardudekid The evolve mechanic on darkness makes sense because it "Starts Dormant". If you barnes into darkness it'll also starts dormant so I don't think it needs to be fixed

İt says starts dormant. Ok. But it already passed the starting stage,and became 20-20 (we can say with no text) And as we know faceless copies the current state of the card(if used argus on it,it copies the +1+1 and taunt aswell) So he is copying a 20-20 that shouldnt have any effect. Rip opponent

You know what made me uninstall the game? That I grinded Arena for a freaking month to get some cards, most of which were only useful to get dusted, then, after finally managing to build a proper Jade druid deck, fucking next patch comes and half of it gets removed from normal. And every season new OP cards come, that I will either have to buy for money, or accept the fact that I'm not winning a ranked game until I grind all of that again. Fucking pay to win garbage.

copying dormant state isn't a bug, read the card text carefully and it makes perfect sense. "Starts dormant" is not part of the battlecry, so it starts dormant regardless of if The Darkness is played or summoned, but only shuffles candles as a battlecry, meaning you have to actually play it to (eventually) get the 20/20

It doesn't make sense, faceless void copies a minion and all of it's current buffs/debuffs. There's no other minion in the entire game where faceless wouldn't copy it exactly. Since The Darkness was active, it should have been copied as active.

Yes... Em, it's a bug. Read "The Darkness" description at 6:49. Read "Faceless Manipulator" at 10:02. Since "The Darkness" is already awake and "Faceless Manipulator" becomes a copy of the card the bug here is that, for some reason, you can't trigger divine shield or stealth (same mechanic abilities than "Starts dormant") with Faceless Manipulator but you trigger "Starts dormant". If "Faceless Manipulator" can trigger "Starts dormant", then he should trigger divine shield or stealth, since it's not how the game behaves, it's a bug.

Incorrect, Faceless Manipulator copies a unit as is, with text and current buffs applied. Meaning it looks at the text and determines the state of which the Faceless Manipulator will take, and the first text is "Starts Dormant". It will then start as Dormant and will require the three candles first before it actually goes out of a dormant state and becomes a normal unit. EDIT: Explained in the gamepedia: When The Darkness is summoned by any means other than being played, it will start dormant but no Darkness Candles are generated. When copied while on the board as a minion, the copy will start dormant.

it is a bug. copying a minion with faceless means copying the minion in the state it is currently in. you can argue that well the text sais starts dormant, however text such as druids transformation for minions have been an issue for a long time.

Salty Rad except when a druid card transforms, it becomes an entirely new card - this is proven if you played Youthful Brewmaster on a Druid of the Claw. The Darkness remains as The Darkness.

faceless also copies everything about that minion. yes this means the darkness starts dormant but it also means faceless gets the awaken's ability too. this is because to argue with what yall said, the darkenss battle cry is not what was giving it the effect to activate. its seperate spells that are uses to activate that ability. meaning that it doesnt need the battlecry to copy the trigger effect(the candles spell on it).
