He is apparently attracted to the fat content in the soap. It is not scented so it's a basic soap. However, I do realize he should probably not get much of it. I have only allowed him a few bites ever and keep it out of reach now.

I wonder if it's made with some sort of less processed vegetable or animal fat. The lye or whatever is the cleaning agent certainly can't taste good

It's probably made with fats and lemon oils. Fragrant the same way as food.
