Been a Lizzy fan for over 30 years and this is such a great version of what is a very under rated song. Classic!!
@alexzanela3 жыл бұрын
very under rated song, indeed! Love it very much! I'd say the demo version found here on youtube is a even better one.

Wow..I never heard it this way,,I love them both,,THIN LIZZY was by far the greatest band in the world,,I got to see them when I was in the 9th grade,,It was The Black Rose tour..I will never forget Scott and Gary,,beating on the kettle drums..You can do anything you want to!! I was only 15,,so my Mom took me..They were actually the warm up band for Journey..we had 10 row center stage,,i will never forget that night..when Journey came on..we stayed for 2 songs..then we left..you cant follow THIN LIZZY..thank you..great song
@LRBerry10 жыл бұрын
Wow! Wish I'd got to have seen that tour as Black Rose is my favourite album. I got see them 3 times, first on the Renegade tour and then twice on the Thunder and Lightning tour.

To you and me....He's a renegade. He's a King..but not in this town,,,But he is a King..when He's on His own..He's got a bike..and that's His throne...Hey Mr. Lee Berry..Thank for sayin hello...Werent they just an awesome band..? Man I loved them,,a teen to a young adult. like I grew up with them,,important years in a mans life. have a good day friend.

I saw the 79 Black Rose tour as well, opening for Journey at the Long Beach Arena, Long Beach CA. Killer show from the best band at their pinnacle! Phil was a poet in the same class as Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, but a MUCH better songwriter.
@dandena45710 жыл бұрын
Carlos Sotolongo.that was the show I was at. The Long Beach arena!! really man.! I even remember what they were wearing. Gary moore had red pants and a gold Jacket, Scott was all in white and Phil was in black..Do you remember when He would stop and point like he was pointing at something far away..? and near the very end they started to swing the THIN LIZZY sign back and forth a little..wow man..WE were at the same show..remarkable man..Journey was not a bad band though.but they could not follow THIN LIZZY..we left a little bit after the Journey singer was running around with a spotlight..remember that part..? well hey take care friend..good to hear from a THIN LIZZY brother
@lorman199310 жыл бұрын
Dan Dena Wow, small world. You do have a great memory.I was also 15 that year and went with my cousins. I think I've listened to Phil/Lizzy nearly every day since that time.

I'm a Liverpool fan, and we drew 2-2 with the mancs. On that night, Lizzy played the Birmingham Odeon. As usual, after the gig, they let the fans filter through the dressing room for autographs (and the pick of the girls!). Phil saw my LFC badge and says to me 'you lucky barstards, we'll beat you in the replay'. I said i bet you a bass guitar you don't' and he signed my program 'to merlin, best wishes Phil Lynott'. A true rock star and how i wish now i could pay him the bet, cos we lost replay!

This is the best version of this song I've ever heard. Hands down. Nothing compares to Philip and Thin Lizzy. NOTHING.
@twilightatireland6 жыл бұрын
The final harmony bit harks back to Little Girl In Bloom, but also to Still In Love With You and even has a touch of Hotel California in there. Robbo and Scott. The most amazing harmony twin lead guitar players ever. Backed up by Downey and Lynott and incredibly under-rated rhythm section. Add to that Lynott's soulful writing and singing. What's not to love?

Legendary stuff - so melodic. Phil Lynott could be romantic without being schmaltzy, and what a voice. Saw them with Robbo on the Bad Rep tour and a good few times after that with Gary Moore, Snowy and John Sykes, but not much touches this stuff. Much kudos to you, blacksabfan

This song was always a favorite of mine .. especially the lead solo .. but I was a little surprised when I heard the tempo was so slow but within a few seconds I was loving it .. .anyone else here notice the "Still in Love With You " section starting at 5:10 ...sounds like they might of did it with this song first ... ANOTHER LIZZY CLASSIC !!!

Lynott sings beautifully on this. It's a really cool version. I love the way Scott takes the solo and Robbo the ad lib bluesy bits then final part with Scott and Robbo taking turns then the whole band coming together on the last harmony guitar bit. Rock solid Downey and Lynott driving it home ... perfect ... Thin Lizzy at their live best.
