You guys are probably the only ones on KZbin not making generic basic archery related videos... It's been an absolute pleasure to watch and pick up information related to form and bow setup You do an amazing job not only explaining but also demonstrating Now I definitely want THING A WEEK, every week!

Thank you George for breaking down the basics of the stablizers. Very useful and love the starting foruula. Scott Tuner of Guns and Bows in Morrice, Michigan where I shoot says hello. Remeber, it is not the week that counts but the value of the thing that matters. Keep them coming, no matter what the interval. Rick Mansberger

Great explanation! I understand how a rear stabilizer work and the formula you explained tells me how much it should weigh. How do you determine the front stabilizer length and weight to start? Sounds like it is dependent on the shooter's style and form?
@Ladiesmanstv4 жыл бұрын
Back bar weight equation: Front bar length in inches X weight in ounces of front bar then / by back bar length in inches = back bar weight in ounces.

George, got a follow up question. First, your videos are extremely helpful so thanks for doing them. Do you have a trick to relax the bow shoulder without over activating the lats? I can't seem to raise the bow using the scoop method without the shoulder coming up. I relax my shoulder but am going by feel and I know it varies and so does my shot placement as a result.

hi I liked your video very helpful. but can I ask wy are we adding weights at the front to add a wieght at the back . wy not just not add weights?

I bought a new hunting bow, Hoyt Ventum Pro 33. I liked everything about it, but I notice that the bow likes to fall forward naturally quite a bit. Is this a major problem, or is it normal to add a back bar to help maintain a neutral balance. After watching this video it makes sense why my shots all seemed to fall low when I was testing it at the range. I'm nervous I will regret my purchase!

GRIV, could you don a video on hunting bows. With stabilizers like Stokerized SS1 and Bee Stinger Sport Hunter counter slide? Thanks

Great explanation of stabilizing!!!! I have one question - When figuring out the "weight ounces" are you including the dampner at the end of your long rod?
@halfstep672 жыл бұрын
If both the front rod and side rod have the same dampener, then they cancel each other out enough to not be a factor. If you only have one dampener on the long rod, weigh it and if it is an ounce or more, then add it to the total weight.

I am new to competition shooting and setting up my bow this was very helpful. I am trying to set my daughters bow up we put a 24 “ stabilizer upfront and a 12 back she continues to shoot low and no matter how much we lower the sight it does not come up she shoots a nice pattern but low 3 arrows in a 1” at 60 meter so should I take weight off the front
