Thanks so much! I am trying to find the best app for organizing with ADHD. I haven't found one I really like yet - things looked like it was cool but I wanted to see a preview prior to investing so much. I appreciate this honest thorough review :)

Nice video, also a big things fan! Agree with the organization stuggles you called out though, Ill sometimes find I want a third level of nesting. Or Ill find that the project "completion" pie chart doesnt make sense for projects that go on basically forever (eg. under "home" I have a "cooking" project that is never complete).
@daniellangewisch3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video! Yea, your point about projects is another good example. I still think the app is worth those minor annoyances, but hopefully they can add an update to fix those in the future!
@jericoba3 жыл бұрын
Hm, yes, the point of a project is to complete it at one time. I think that if you just want a simple list of items or actions that you don't have an intention to complete/buy/do, then stick to a list. I wouldn't really blame the app for that. Things app can be used for this tracking but that's not how it's designed. It's a GTD app after all.

I really wish you could show how the iPhone and watch versions work,rather than just the Mac.
@daniellangewisch2 жыл бұрын
Sorry if you felt like I focused on the Mac too much! I tried to give a view of the app on the Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch, but I might have not gotten enough footage of the latter two. Good feedback! 👍🏼

@@daniellangewisch that’s alright mate, you helped me choose to get it and I don’t regret it, also in your other video, thanks for saying what I was thinking about the Carrot weather app. I got the free version and set it to “overkill”, it is currently calling me “meatbag” lol.

I have heard and read that Things is going to come up with a v4 this year? Any word on that? Would that influence your purchase decision at this current point in time? I feel like a task manager is very important but I can't understand the idea of almost $100 for a planner that may be outdated in a few months if they do release Things 4. Let me know what you think
@daniellangewisch3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video! I have not heard any news about a v4 for Things. I would imagine even if they did release a new version, that they would offer the update cheaper to current owners of Things. Hope that helps!

I have multiple projects going on & people who report up … Can i assign tasks to people for my own review? I use tags in Omni focus for this.

Thanks for checking out the video! Things 3 has tags so you might be able to do that in there as well!

Random question. You mentioned shower which peaked my curiosity. Are apple watches are shower resistant?
@daniellangewisch2 жыл бұрын
They are! I’d put water lock on first before wearing it in the shower, though!

@@daniellangewisch i still don’t have the courage to take em in the shower 😅 not sure how resistant they are against hot water showers.

Hey Daniel! If you don't use tags how do you sort by context which is a huge part of the GTD methodology?
@daniellangewisch3 жыл бұрын
Good question, Christoffer! While I implement many aspects of GTD, I found tagging the context ended up being more work than the actual benefit it gave me. This is probably more due to my personal situation. I think for some people, tags can be super useful!

what was the Keyboard shortcut for sending spark emails to Things3
@daniellangewisch3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Kimberly! I press "Option+Spacebar" when in an email to quickly send it to Things. However, if that isn't working for you for some reason, you can go into your preferences, go to keyboard shortcuts, and add the shortcut you want from there. Hope that helps! 😃
