I really like that Tiago shows his audience how he ACTUALLY manages his to-dos (instead of making a generic to-do list). That personalized approach makes it so much easier to apply to my own productivity system.

Love some of the things he is saying here. The idea that a todo app should be not clever and more stable and consistent. And the (only seemingly) busy way he has organised his work. The less spread out way of organising. Face it, if you are going to do something, you will do it anyway. After seeing this I have dropped the Areas thing altogether and gone just a tad more micro. Kind of a mind-state based separation of activities. Of course it’s always a bit of a work in progress. Thanks Francesco.

Thank you so much for this video. I have been a Things user for years but never felt I was using it effectively. From this video, and your conversation with Tiago, my problem is my setup. I’ve watched a number of videos about Things and other productivity apps. This, by far, is the best I’ve seen thus far. Thank you again.

I loved this! Thanks for putting this together Francesco. Two questions I wish were answered: * what is Tiago's daily ritual with GTD/Things to keep everything fresh? * If he doesn't put his projects under Areas, what does he use areas for? Do loose, non-project tasks go there?

I will quote Tiago: "...An area of responsibility is “a sphere of activity with a standard to be maintained over time.” Examples include: Health; Finances, Professional Development; Travel; Hobbies; Friends; Apartment; Car; Productivity; Direct reports;..."

This is a brilliant set of videos. It couldn’t be more appropriately published as I am desperately trying to learn GTD and Things 3 to set out and plan my MSc dissertation. Due date: 3rd Jan 2020, so any student/study videos that you may be considering, here’s s a reason to move them out of the someday section ;-) he he. Thanks for all the videos!!! A second brain is seriously required (ADHD) means the executive functioning of my first one isn’t up to much, and argument can’t be made for a third ;-)

Ah, this is great to hear. I'm looking for feedback on this series, as we might do this again! I will try to get some more GTD content in in the next few weeks, so you can hit your deadline? ;) But remember, equally stay away from KZbin aha ;) Francesco :-)

So for those of who might be forced to migrate to Windows at some point, what’s the closest alternative to Things. Lookswise and simplicity-wise, MS ToDo (although it’s nowhere near perhaps in terms of features or even ease of use) could be a choice? Todoist of course. Any other suggestions? What I would miss most about things is its extreme simplicity, wherein, on the surface it looks just like a list, and no more.

Only thing that drives me from Things is lack of Windows app. I use Todoist on my iPhone, MacBook, iPad, and Windows PC for work. If Things 4 goes monthly sub with a web app version as well then I’m gonna be all in on it because it UI is far superior when compared to Todoist

What is the main difference between Things and Evernote they seem pretty similar?

Something I don’t get, is having a list of “Things to Do” not being inside the very TASK management system you not only work in but paid $$ for & have chosen to use. It almost appears redundant.
