This area was my playground as a teenager. We fished and did everything else that teenagers do in the area covered by this video. The only change I noticed, in the 50 odd years since, is that the banks of the Trent have got very overgrown with bushes now that all the fishermen have moved to small ponds.

Good day Robbie. Glad you are enjoying your new work. I thought I’d share that you are having an impact on the language of Narrowboating. Recently I was watching a Minimal List video where they had to deal with heavy currents. They said,”We better Crank It!” I commented you would be proud and the said,”We hope so!”

A very exciting time for you! Oh, I miss the Trent. Last years journey on the Trent was my favourite of all my boating so far. Yes, I was told to open the paddle on the same side as the boat. The water heads for the opposite wall, bounces back and keeps the boat glued to the wall. I operated the lock at Hazlehurst to help a single hander out who was on a mission and no lockies around. I admit I was scared but we did it :) Wow, it looks great up near Tod! Thanks for the video and the catch up.

Some canals,like for instance the Kand A, if you can get your front in, then, gang plank at back, your sorted. Don't encourage the canals to be all lined, it will make the canals worse. Housing estates going up everywhere, it's getting worse, enjoy the rural, two or three foot away from the bank is ample for me.great vids keep em coming.

It's a nice feeling to leave a job that worked, and now are heading to a new work opportunity that you love. Your regular viewers can tell you're excited about it. And I hope it allows you to continue to produce these marvelous escapes onto England's canals. Does the local tides affect the river flow speed?
@RobbieCumming5 жыл бұрын
Not at this point of the river. What’s happening (which I should have realised) is the river is narrower than it is upstream and that causes it to speed up
