Good Morning! It's inexcusable. From what I'm hearing, and not on the "news", it's bad. Those people have been hard hit, and now ignored. "Our Government" should be on top of this, but they are not. I get what you’re saying. A truckers strike for 2 or 3 days and the stores would be empty. You mentioned the home lost in a mud slide, at the same time lots of homes weren’t lost but all roads in to Asheville were out, even one interstate shut down. We had a town up in the panhandle cut off by fire last year. Doesn’t take much to shut down our supply lines. Ammunition goes away depending on who’s in office and so much of it is owned by foreign entities you just never know. You don’t need to be prepared for the end times necessarily, doesn’t hurt. You have to remember if you can’t survive a second you can’t survive a minute, can’t survive a minute you can’t survive an hour, etc. Everyone needs to be able to make it a week at home without going to town, it may just be the flu that keeps you there. Yall take care of yourselves.

Good morning Muskrat, I live in Jackson Tennessee which is about halfway between Nashville and Memphis. We weren’t affected by the storm here except a few inches of rain, but the eastern part of Tennessee was hit pretty hard. North Carolina was not so lucky, they got almost two feet of rain. Most of the storm damage in Tennessee was caused by runoff from the Appalachian Mountains. I’m still interested in a pair of suspenders, but now that winter is just around the corner I won’t get out of my bib overalls until spring 😂 I would like to send you this pack board if you want it. I thought it might make a small deposit on them. I know it’s not worth much, but it’s a show of faith anyway. Blessings to you and Cindy, watch your topknot my friend 👍💪🙌🌈✌️

Glad that the rest of the materials for the house are bought, paid for, waiting to be delivered. Finally good to go on the building inspection, insulation goin in today, drywall ordered yesterday, got our name on it, will be dropped next Wed. Siding, same-same. Only thing "out in the weeds" is the garage door, and we got enough material to seal the opening up for the winter if it comes to that. I DO need some parts for one truck that I'm afraid FoMoCo has started bringin in from Chinesia via Messico, though. Love that old Ford. 93 F250 4X4, 460 5 speed. Not as comfy as the 04 Super Duty V10 4x4, but it'll sure outwork it, and is hella more capable in the boondocks. Just gotta keep that left leg in good enough shape to ride the clutch! Take er easy!

@MuskratOutdoors Took a look at the shelves in the hobby room a bit back. Not as comfy with what I saw there. Sure could use a new welder, and new oxy-acetylene hoses and regulators. Need welding rod and tips, and the scrap pile is pathetic. Believe I've more primers, powder, and cases than I'll use, as long as I shoot 308, '06, 12 ga, and 22. Enough of everything else to keep things interesting. Went on a binge a few years back, bought a used Dillon loader, and went nuts doing up 45 acp, 223, and 30 carbine. I'll never shoot all of that up, but it kept me out of the saloons and sportin' houses doin it! I do need to convince the VA to give me a bit of a stockpile of my most needed meds, though. Especially considering that so many come from overseas, as well as the precursors and components to make the compounds. Can't just tell the diabetes to take a break, ya know?

Funny story about those rabbits, watch yur hat Muskrat😅. Those folks who get upset need to eat more meat. It helps keep us from being ornery. That helicopter was neat, do you know what it was packing? At first I thought it was hauled on the truck, but it didn't make sense when my brain kicked in. Woke up to snow here at 56°N/122°W. Good morning. I miss being a handyman/ maintenance worker. Always something to do and it's always rewarding when you're done and things are running smoothly. All the craziness that people are going through is so sad. Everywhere you look there's bad news or something catastrophic happening. I just worry about the people who are dying or having their lives destroyed. I hope things don't get as bad as people are saying but like you say it's better to be prepared and not need it. What ever you hear about the damage In Tennessee and North Carolina--multiply it by 10! At least two towns gone and many more seriously damaged. Many bridges gone and roads, including major highways, either blocked by mudslides or look like they’ve been through a blender. I have also heard of some going hungry because they were cut off and had no food on hand, not even for a couple of days. I have two sisters living in East Tennessee but fortunately, they are fine and prepared. We never know what can happen or how fast, so we need to stock up.

Failure to plan is planning for failure. Those folks who fail to recognize the uncertainty of the future and be proactive about it are reactive and try to buy when it's too late and the reason shelves empty out. Extra food and household goods is never a bad idea. We're not saying be extreme about it, but buying a little extra here and there means no rushing to stores. And you're right about the payment for services rendered. It's not the amount, it's the principle. Refusing to pay is a slap in the face saying your services don't matter.

The people that refuse to live in fear....usually fear SO much of everything that that's their mechanism to survive....ultimately be unprepared. The preparing itself is too much for them. And then the "hurricane"...the 1 that had days worth of "rain" before the category 2 "hurricane" showed up.
