No one is talking about that fact that Jess waited for Gabe to get the exemption to travel. She literally could’ve traveled alone but waited for him to be able to travel with her. It says a lot about their relationship. I honestly love them, so happy for them!

I’m sorry, but I don’t find this sweet. It’s textbook codependence. I know that’s a hard pill to swallow and a lot of their audience are younger/naive, but trust me. If seeing her family was something she was really wanting to do, she should have felt okay to go without him. They already see each other everyday. Trust me on this.

I've been flying alone since I was fifteen. It's 2021. Your point on them spending every day together is exactly my point - a little bit of time apart wouldn't hurt them, and is actually super healthy. Something millions of people go through all the time, pandemic or not. Refugees, people who can’t get home because of war, people who have no families to go to, people who can’t afford it. This doesn’t negate Jess’s emotions, but it would be good for all of us to remember that. It’s been one year. She could’ve gone earlier if she wanted to, but I suspect they have codependency stuff to work on. They have a good amount of money and after this will be able to fly as much as they like, just as they did when they were seeing each other every few weeks during “long distance”. I just hope we can all extend our compassion regarding this sort of thing for people who really need it.
