So will I. I grew up on them. I prefer them over store bought carrots. Splitting them into fourths then frying them up with almonds and salted butter is divine. Young kids need to be taught that cabbage gives you the farts. Just to bring back our joyful GenX days of eating beans for a day straight then having a bubble bath. Heehee. Ah, the days before electronics. Pubs closing later should be set realm-wide! (Canadian monarchist here)

I noticed they seemed sweeter than what I remembered as a child (started eating them again during the pandemic) and I figured it was just "I'm older, I must like em now". It makes PERFECT sense. They really are sweeter than they used to be.

This kills me, mainly because I can hear my dad saying “I used to hate brussel sprouts, grandma just use to boil them, I like what you do, roast them with… what’s this? Bacon?” 🤣 We went from depression era grandparents boiling veg, to…. Seasonings. I’m not saying he’s “wrong” lol but that’s a lot of crop /information sharing and energy around the world for a measly veg.

Brussels sprouts: cut them in 2 or 3 pieces up and down. Saute cut side in butter or veg oil till browned. Turn over, cover and steam till tender. VITAL: sprinkle with lime juice. Makes them taste almost good.
