The mainstream media shows the worst they can find...or even old video. It suits the climate change agenda. A tropical storm or CAT 1 is nothing. Just a lot of wind and rain. The Caribbean islands are accustomed to this.

I’m a retired Frenchman living in France, but I’ve previously lived 50 years in Puerto Rico. I had an apartment in Dos Marinas Torre I and a sailboat in Villa Marina. During hurricane Hugo of 1989, my boat was in Marina Puerto Chico and it got separated from its dock together with another boat that was tied to the same wooden walkway. They both either went around or over the breakwater and ended up near Isleta Marina. The other boat sank and served as an anchor to my boat that was miraculously unscathed. Your videos bring back many fond memories (I was a regular customer of the Skipper Shop), I wish you all the best!

I've ridden out more hurricanes than I can count with a sailboat, and I know you have one under your belt now, but don't worry about the mainsail. Just take some line and wrap it to the boom and it will be fine. Now for the headsail. Get it down. Every hurricane, somebody leaves then on and we watch then get unrolled. and destroyed. Really enjoying your videos! And, Matt, I hope you realize every single day of your life how lucky you are. Girls like Kristen don't come along every day. And, good job, taking care of other people's boats. That's what it's all about. Helping each other.

I was an inland boater for 30 years and have saved folks I’ve never met many hundreds of dollars in damage too. Glad to hear the report that you guys leveled through it. We lost our Block Island 40 footer in hurricane Michael. It was a 1974 Bill Trippe design that had been sitting on the hard in a warehouse for the last 40 years. An old man bought her intending to refurbish and update her, he got sick and eventually died. She was a tough boat as she had built among the early fiberglass hulls made at the time, which were far, far thicker than anything today. We decked her out in style and she looked like a limousine. We put alot of work in her, just like you guys are doing. It hurt to lose her but some things are just outta your hands. Glad you guys are still topside....Ciao!
