Well what really hooked me was the fact the entire family is involved and you get a lot of personal off track footage also. Billy beat him fair and square, he started spinning and had to peddle it. If you peddle against billy your done for cause he’s going to make an A to B pass. Most importantly Billy and Bill hell of a way to keep your cool and not let it escalate into an all out brawl. You guys handled it very professionally (yes some words were used in front of woman and children that shouldn’t have) but in the heat of the moment it happens. Personally as soon as he would have got loud with my mom or dad he would have been picking himself up off the pavement. You don’t disrespect as man and his wife in their pit period. You guys are hands down some of the most honest,fair and respectful people I have ever seen when it comes to racing. You guys are very dedicated to your program and it shows, races are won in the shop everyone knows that and you guys put your time in that’s why your fast everywhere you go. Here's what I saw. Dude in the s10 WANTED a rerun. He thought he had a chance, and thought that a funky wire wasn't the way he wanted to win. He brought his case to the race official AND Billy at the line. By MUTUAL agreement the race was rerun. Nova dude lost his race either by shutting down just past the 330 accidentally, OR ran out of fuel. Either way, that is drive/team failure. Then he decides to drive his car into Billy's pit space, start talking smack, and throw insults around. Even tried to use physical intimidation. That isn't really being a class act, no matter how disappointed he may have been. In the end, his antics gets the whole damn thing shut down. Good job. ....Bill and family. I thank you for telling the story. Keep racing, keep looking out for others, and keep hanging together. I'll keep watching.

Mechanical error and Human error are 2 completely different sides of the coin. Back in the 70s I used to run a 69 Olds 442 and it was set up well. There were not many that could get around it. It was far from stock and used to run the area Dragstrips and on the street. One day at the strip me and a Chevelle were down to the last race of the day for the money .My hotrod was running good and was knocking down the tree on reaction times , we both pre stage and stage the lights getting ready to drop and I hear the car drop a cylinder and I go oh no, I look and the fuel pressure gauge starts to dance. It all happened in seconds. To not take the chance and running it lean I shut the car down. Everyone new I was gonna win because of the way the day was going. I got out and everyone says what's wrong. I says no gas. Forgot all about refueling and had plenty of time. Shit happens and it was still a good day. I shook the man's hand and called it a day. You should of done the same Eddie. Suck it up.

The anxiety of a loss because of KNOWN personal fault is what I saw when dude in the Nova pulled up with his door open at your pit yelling lets run it back before even getting out of his car. This! As a crew member on a fuel car I say this. Each time that racecar makes its way to the line it has to be 100 percent. There are no do overs. There are no second chances. Treat each and every pass like loosing the race depends on it. Before that race car even leaves the shop go over everything, every single piece, part, item that it takes to make a clean, fast pass. Then after each round go over everything again. None of this parking the car letting it cool down and filling up the fuel and going for another run. Go over every single piece. Obviously there are things that will break or wear out. find them! It is not a bad idea to put new spark plug in after each pass. Yes, you will go through a shit ton of plugs but which is the alternative? Just treat each and every pass like there will be no re run. If this were me in this situation, I would have loaded it up and went home. regardless who asked me to rerun it. It is best to save face over a loss than get into an issue with other racers over it. Just my .02. Get em next time. Remember, go over everything after each pass. Get em!
