Well, you got run over by a truck, not a bus. So good job on living your life to the fullest spending every penny on things you wanted. The universe knew, and deep down inside you knew as well, that's why you couldn't save and felt like you had to do stuff all the time. You knew you were running out of time here. Freaky, but amazing. Sending love to your soul. R.I.P

I for one love your honesty as I am pretty much the same. I followed you on instagram but have since come off as, like you said; it’s not always a good place. Keep being you and don’t change for anyone. If people don’t like you, who cares!, you can’t get on with everyone, that I have learnt in my 42 years. At the end of the day no one is perfect no matter what they might think. Life is too short. You can have all the money but actually have nothing. Knowing your boundaries and faults are seen as a bad thing by many people but actually they are the fools. Keep up the good work, as long as you believe in yourself, who knows what you can achieve 🕊

Thank you Emily for showing us the sides to you that know aren't your best sides, because we are all imperfect humans! Hope you find a balance between being content and being a high achiever xxx

Most of what you don't like about yourself I think are good qualities.Being impatient , punctual, driven will only drive you forward. Those are the same traits of most successful people. Your very funny and entertaining. I look forward to your vids every week they're a breath of fresh air. Who couldn't like you?
@markflanders16517 жыл бұрын
I do think it's incredibly brave to be putting so much yourself ' out there ' and be open to such public scrutiny...ok so nobody's forcing you to so I guess there's an element of needy narcissism too, frankly...but then again, most entertainers possess this trait and you most certainly are an entertainer Emily. As regards self criticism, this can be healthy but of course on the flip side every single one of your apparent negatives contain extremely attractive and worthwhile positives which I'm sure your friends and family will be as keen to assure you of - because they love you for who you are.

I love this video because you are both so honest and so oblivious of all the talents that you have. You have one of the most expressive faces. Your emotions really come thru and never seem fake. You are ambitious and while it is possible to strive to hold a job beyond your ambitions you don't and you wonder why. You are not fake - you just can't fake it until you make it! Cheers!
@MrBklein317 жыл бұрын
Every thing you said you made negative, but they are not. Most of them are actually positives. You are strong, you are not patient because you strive to be better, do more, and be more productive. You are a true Entrepreneur with a strong drive. Take it as a challenge and make it kind of a game. When I get down on myself, I just think really hard on why it's actually a good thing. You have so many things I like about you, that anything you think is a flaw, it's actually one of the things that makes you unique and special.

tip for #2: Emotional Processing. It's the opposite of meditation. Meditation is emptying our minds. Emotional processing is dedicating time to acknowledge what's going on in our mind...aka dealing with thoughts and emotions. I spend at least 1 hour every morning before getting out of bed acknowledging my thoughts and my responses to them (emotions). Embracing the pain, rage, fear, etc... that I've kept bottled in to survive in our world. Consequently I'm more stable, less needy and more capable of handling stress. If you want more let me know.

Oh I can relate, especially with #2, only I can't even go on vacation cause I go STIR CRAZY after maybe an hour of laying around doing nothing. It's a problem. Btw I highly recommend reading "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch if you've haven't. Lots of good wisdom in there, but in particular he had a few amazing insights for those not sure about their career choice, finding the specific parts of what you actually like about your "dream job" and then setting out to achieve them.

I can handle the gross chat. Not a problem for me. My mom is a nurse, and would always start telling me gross medical stories, then pause and be like "Oh sorry, I shouldn't tell you this while you're eating." And I'd be all like "Nah mom, it's fine. Talk away." I never really understood how some could get sick just because they heard something gross while eating. I could always handle it. Insert my brother and sister. They couldn't handle it, apparently.

That would be beneficial for you and at the same time, quite inspire others. You're a wonderful person, Emily!. Don't sell yourself short.
@Ugoogolizer7 жыл бұрын
Emily, I don't think any of these are truly things you have to hate about yourself! Let's go through it one by one. 1. Impatient / Timely You can be relied upon to be on time. This is a very useful personality trait. The people who aren't on time probably have other gifts 2. Just Be That same feeling which will make you on time, is what causes you trouble when you try to just be 3. Contentedness Especially for someone like you who is very open and conscientious, the contentedness you will feel from meeting goals will necessarily be fleeting, because your brain wants you to move to the next goal so you can feel good about completing that one too. In some ways your discontent helps you move forward in the world, not so bad 4. Ambition This one is always going to be difficult for you, and I think the best thing to do is sort of outsource that to other people. Listen to them and try to trust them when they tell you that you are doing well and are already an impressive person. One little life-hack might be to frame the relaxation as a goal. Schedule it in! 5. What do I want? You are very creative and open minded, so you can easily imagine a million good things that you might be. That makes it hard to pick one. Still, not so bad! Imagine the alternative: I know what I want, and I must have it. Then I don't get it. Then I can't think of something else I could be. Fortunately you have a flexible mind and so can discover the next thing that you will be. 6. Jealousy I think it is a problem of complexity. Even before birth we each develop different gifts, and then each of us lives insanely different lives and our brains develop in different ways, until through our unique experience we each become in some ways a universe unto ourselves. So maybe you imagine that your friends have had a similar path to you and then did something right where you went wrong may, well... that's only sometimes true. It may be time to accept how wonderfully unique you truly are. I think the solution is to compare yourself to who you were before. Not to who someone else is now. Because really, we don't even know ourselves. And if that's true, how could we know each other well enough to perfectly compare ourselves to them? We can't of course! So I think maybe the jealousy you feel is in some ways mediated by negative feelings about yourself. 7. Perfectionist This is deeply interrelated with all the others. You're perfectly on time, you're not content with failure, you're ambitious enough to strive for perfection, and you want to know more perfectly what to do so you don't just pretend to know what you want. Thing is, perfectionism can be part of the path to behaving in a moral way. The perfect is something we strive for, not something we attain. Think about Error Correction and Exception Handling. Sometimes there are errors that you must correct, but sometimes life just threw you an exception. So don't get too down on yourself for being a human :). 8. Money I think you're insanely industrious, but not super obsessed with everything being in order. That little bit of chaos in your thinking is what helps you to be so funny and to be so creative. I think what might work for you is to automate your saving so you don't have to even think about it. Think of it as the reverse of your hypothetical "12,000 pound a month" future. You could just as easily spend 250 pound instead of 275. So if you automate the savings (with your bank or an app or a financial advisor or whatever), and can compartmentalize the 25 a month and forget about it, could help 9. People pleaser Of course the good things are obvious, you're a great friend, great sibling, and you're probably great with kids or animals (same difference :P). On the flipside, it can sometimes feel like you'd rather just give the other person 60 and you take 40 from the get go. It can feel like you are taken advantage of. And it can feel like other people's joy is more important than yours. While to some extent you're stuck with that feeling you don't have to be trapped by it! Basically you want to think about how to negotiate on your own behalf. Imagine that you cared about yourself the same way you do about the people you love or are responsible for. You'd negotiate fairly for them, right? Even if someone didn't like you for it. So, as cheesy as it sounds, you might have to love yourself more. 10. Too honest and open The same thing which disgusts one person will amuse another, so you can't possibly please everyone in this way. The simple truth is that it's good to be honest. You know, it's like, the first step to telling the truth is just not lie. So you probably have that down pretty well! And the next step is to figure out what is the right thing to say at the right time. I bet you are much better than you think at knowing what will be too much for someone to hear when you interact with them in person. And you can never please youtube (and you don't really want to) so it's silly to try. Anyway, hope any of this helps!

I enjoyed your video just now, as I have for over a year. You're real, funny and although you don't seem to see it at times, you are pretty. You have good friends and a great family that help you on many videos. A person's friends are a good indication of that person's inner quality. You're not perfect but it is not a fault to aim toward that goal. I don't remember all 10 things, but I think it simply proves you are normal. Everyone has some small degree of insecurity, but you are always trying for better and that is good. I always look forward to getting notifications when your videos come out. Have a nice evening out.

I think there is much people that has the same things you've said. And the most of it doesn't know how to handle it... at least "in good terms"... "in a good way". I find myself identify in much things you mentioned, but I just don't feel too bad for that. I just improve in the things I believe is the best for me... and keep carring/handle the other things as I can; or as I want. You know why? because no one is going to get to die being a perfect person. The only think we can do is to try. But we have to be honest with ourselves, and know that is hard, and SURELY a "game" we cannot win. So, the way I think is: Make (first of all) the things I really want; and then, make my work, and the things "I have to". And trying to get fun in any way I choose. Anyway... Keep that way! Or better, improve as you like! :D Just don't forget that there is a lot of people feeling... close the same way you feel about yourself and your life. Don't be mad with you.

Emily, I could write volumes about Emily but, what I think is superfluous. I would like to recommend something to put in your backpack so you would carry it with you...there is a book or a video production entitled “ THE SECRET “ that I would ask you to read/hear or discuss with a friend. What ever path Brits used to obtain a book to peruse, library, retail book store, whatever is most expedient, use it to get it. Be forewarned, you can read it in a day or hear it in an hour. I think you should have it in your own backpack for ready reference. Cheers Emily

But, when you are trying to meditate and there are lots of thoughts going on in your mind... do not try to make them go away. That will make more thoughts come to your mind. The key to meditating is just accept whatever thoughts come to your mind and just keep breathing deeply. Meditation helps me whenever I am too anxious and I hope it can help you too!

The discontent and restlessness I believe to be the natural state of the human being when identified as a self. Zen Buddhism aims to guide people to see they are not the character they assume they are, and if they see that then there is no discontent or restlessness. Sorry that's a real brief explanation. Check out Zen Bitch Slap on KZbin if you're interested, he talks about this really well in a very straight forward way. Also it sounds like you might benefit from taking the big 5 personality test which you can do for free online. Might help you to understand your qualities. It sounds like you might be very high in conscientiousness (perfectionism, ambition) and very high in agreeableness (wanting people to like you, caring) Meditation - have you tried just 10 mins per day and using a guide? Your mind is strong, like a wild horse.

Befriend the bored when it arises. The being place is accessed through the befriending of all the (unconscious) places in you that fuel and drive the endless doing. What fuels your doing? It’s very often unresolved childhood stuff. Btw the question - ‘what do I do’ is the wrong question. The answer is not in the doing realm.
