The 23 year old rule is for nightclubs. The clubs close about 5 or 6 in the morning. Tobasco sauce was invented by an Irishman named McIlhinney. Ask for it by name and not just hot sauce. There is a scheme in Ireland that checks your age for buying alcohol, restaurants, supermarkets and pubs, if you look under 25 years old. I live in County Clare.

What a cute, nice, smart person. She reminds me of my daughter. Enjoy your times, Claire!

Beautiful backdrops! I love the ‘ye’ phrase. It does sound handy! When I was working in London as a co-op student I had three flatmates from Ireland and they’d all say they were ‘shattered’ after a long day. Meaning absolutely exhausted. That one stuck with me! Glad you’re taking advantage of weekends and doing little side trips. I used to love going to the continent on weekends. Ahhh, nostalgia! You’re bringing me back, Claire.

Ok. Finished the video. 5 stars. Totally appreciated the classroom action shots, reflective insights, and the mood-setting music in the beginning! Ugh- peer pressure IS the worst… except when you survive to tell a great story!! 💕 #YOLOToAPoint

There’s a few bars who do that so that older customers don’t have to put up with drunk teens. It’s only a small percentage and it’s enforced with varying degrees of strictness. As soon as business goes a bit quiet, they usually quietly drop that over 23s rule.

Also, I’m not sure how I got here but hope you had a nice time here and the rest of your time in Europe 👍

Paying " at the till" is the usual way to pay for your food in the UK. You have to remember that you are in Ireland and NOT America, and teens will not attack you...especially girls ! The bars may have a " Check 23 or 25 " policy where ,if you look under those ages they will ask for I.D., even if the drinking age is 18. We have the same thing in the UK, not only in pubs/bars, but for all age restricted products from cigarettes to energy drinks.

Also, I wanted to say that I love your hair (still 😂)! Short hair suits you. And long and medium hair suits you. Essentially, if your goals to conquer the world fall through, there would be a future in wig-modeling for you. Just something to think about 🤷‍♀️ 🫶

The 23 age thing is to keep out annoying teenagers who can't handle their drink or don't spend enough money.

In Dublin 'ye' becomes 'yez' or 'yiz'. 'Your' plural sometimes becomes 'youser'. Has a whole thing from the root 'ye'.

McIlhenneys Tabasco sauce is in every supermarket in the land.. You are very unlikely to find it on restaurant tables, but there are lots of options in Oriental/Korean supermarkets etc. Hostels are one sure way of, er, broadening your horizons... If you are using them in mainland Europe you'll be meaning people from the four corners of the world. Never had a problem, and used them in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. Hostels will move people around, you mightn't always have the same people sharing. Very loud snorers can find themselves shuttled around... if you are unlucky the could be moved to your room!

The Restaurant thing paying at the till is same in Britain as well or they will bring a m/c to your table to pay by Credit/ Debit card.

Ok. I have to pause this video immediately. Piper is solidly in her teens and I can attest this age group is as terrifying as all get-out. She lost her words, communicates only in eye-roll variations, and changed her name on me. Thank you for validating my current reality. Ok, carry on.

The wall art is by David Lilburn, he has a website, some beautiful work. Are you studying to be a teacher? You're spot on with the language, and yes ye is the best word ever, its a holdover from the 10th -15th century middle english, similar to thee or thou. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Ireland and Limerick, I know it well.

Oh, and when someone says "I will, yeah" when you ask them to do something, that means they have zero intention of ever doing it, but don't want to hurt your feelings by telling you so!
