Watercolour has taught me patience as well with myself and how to let go and go with the flow. It can lead to unexpected moments while painting, which can challenge your creativity, sure, but one thing I've learned from it, is to grow in those moments of surprise (on and off the paper). It has taught me how to think more on my feet and find a solution than getting caught up in any inconveniences or unplanned moments - some lessons that come in handy in life too I guess! I also find it relaxing and satisfying to see the flow of the paint as it grows on the paper, or through the brushes manipulations. Thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork in another great video! Glad to hear you had a good Sunday doing this too! Take care and good health x

I remember as a child in elementary school, everyone would use poster colors, but as I grew a little older I started to use watercolors and it's what I've been working with ever since. There's something really therapeutic about watching a blank piece of paper gain life from the layers and layers of paint. On the other hand, I feel that over the years I've really grown to be more patient, I guess? And also learning how to improvise when things aren't going as planned, both during painting and my daily life. I'm still a middle schooler, and I know I've got lots of room for improvement, like how to add in lights and colors in my paintings, making expressions and angles right etc. Pypah, I've been following you for quite a while now, and you've been one of my biggest inspirations. Keep doing what you do, love you ❤

Watercolour grew on me over the past year. I love it now. I used to be strictly all about coloured pencils, and I used to steer clear of watercolour for the exact reasons that you love it- the dry time, the ugly stage, endless layers, having to give up control to the water flow. I originally only turned to watercolour for an underpainting for my coloured pencils, and not for the beautiful effects it makes. I struggle a bit because I like things to turn out smooth, crisp, and super-detailed. So it's been a slow learning process, getting better at using watercolour to get these results, along with giving up some control to the water flow. Watercolour is therapeutic for me too. I also have to fight with myself not to cover up too much of the "imperfections" with my coloured pencils. The perfectionist in me would just cover up the entire painting with the pencils. So it's like this weird inner fight I've got going on!

I like to try different art supplies but Watercolors will always be my favorite medium to work with, I always find it fascinating to learn new tricks and try the methods or experience myself how an accident can turn into art or how I can blend the colors and play with the hues in an illustration, and since I am more used to building up the colors or watercolor tricks, when I tend to use more opaque mediums such as acrylics or even gouache (which is a fine mix of both), I tend to have certain difficulties 😅 PS: ADORO a tua vibe e estilo de arte 🥰💗

I've been trying to get into water color the past couple years but I just couldn't. Until a few weeks ago I made my first watercolor portrait thingy, even though I didn't enjoy painting a face with acrylic the one time I tried it. And oh my I have never enjoyed a portrait that I made so much, it is one of my favorite pieces and it has gotten me into sketching faces more and painting hands and such to sorta get a feel for my art style. It's really helped me with finding my style wow. I think the most challenging thing with it fir me is mixing colors to get the right skin tone or the right coppery brown for the hair or the right kinda pinkish for the nail. But I'm so happy that I started watching your videos because it helps to see such a beautiful process and it always just inspires me to paint more often. Which is something that I've really needed.

I always use a very dark Payne's gray or indigo blue for vibrant black in watercolor. I find it a looot better than the actual black. I've heard other people use very dark purple. I guess it depends on your watercolors. I have mostly Daniel Smiths and i really love their Payne's gray. The indigo is also beautiful. Very pigmented. If i were to use purple i'd use the Windsor and Newton. I have a gorgeous dark purple from them. I love watercolor for the way the water makes colors mix and you can obtain such interesting effects. Just by using the colors on wet you can hint so much, make ethereal flowers and shapes. The passage of light and shadow and generally the rendering of light in a lite subtle way. I love the watercolor artists who can make wonderful watercolors without line art. People who use what i like to call the very wet on wet technique. Loads of water and just working on the soaked paper. I am in awe of them. I'm only learning to use the medium and can't fathom making something so beautiful and clear only with the colors. I bought a painting like that last year during a vacation in Croatia from an artist that had amazing landscapes. I was blown away by how he got to express the essence of what he was seing by just colors running into one another. Every time i look at it i go "that's the level i'm aiming for", even if right now it seems impossible. I wish i had more time (and courage) to practice.

gorgeous! I use regular masking tape for the edges of my paintings but make sure to make it less sticky by dabbing it on my clothes or skin a few times before placing it on the paper, so it doesn't rip up. I've never had a problem with it being not sticky enough with this method x
