You inspired me well over a year ago to tackle drawing buildings. I endeavoured to understand perspective and parallel lines in that time and found myself surprised by the intuition to take over. Scenes that I'd had in my head for years were finally viable on paper for me via bad photocopies of far away places. Architecture had finally became simplified boxes with flourishes. I am making this comment because after watching this miniature documentary, I find myself amazed and emboldened in the same way as before. Your music choice and filmography style make your videos serene, but this one stands out because of the editing and with so much material, your judicious presentation made it a joy to witness. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability in this challenge and documenting it so completely. You truly are an outstanding content creator for the art community.

Okay, I'm going to try to make this quick. You're literally such a talented queen. You deserve so much love and attention. This is my first time seeing a video of yours, but I already love you. Your realistic portraits are stunning and just so awesome! I have no talent, but you inspire me in a way that makes me WANT to pick up a pencil and let my hand just glide across paper. I feel a strike of confidence to continue on in art. Moments after watching this video, I started drawing a random picture with pastels. To be honest, my art turned out much better when I cared and I was confident in myself rather than drawing to try and impress other people. When I say that I mean I drew how I felt was right, but sometimes I get false confidence and I start drawing something far too complex to try and impress others of great talent. At this point, I've written too much. I hope to see much more of you in the future. Xox, Ele

That is actually a form of mindfulness/meditation. You look intently at something eg. a flower until everything else disappears, you zoom in and it gets larger and that is all there is. The flower. Its only happened to me once or twice as I tend to fall asleep - I think that I must be hypnotising myself! I wake myself up with a snore. No need to be scared - its an ok thing. Sorry that I can't remember the term for it.

My problem is knowing where to start, probably because I don’t know where I want to go with my art. I’m really thankful for this video. It reminds me that sketchbooks aren’t supposed to be perfect. That you can make mistakes, try new things, start again, and practice. I've been a self-taught artist for a couple years now but never thought to branch out through my sketchbook. Since watching this, I've gone through each of the prompts! Thank you for posting this! I am a self employed person who happens to enjoy writing and painting. I have huge boxes of daily journal filled up with mostly writings. At least 20,000 pages full of my thoughts. I was tiring of writing so much and started to get more involved in my longing to paint My problem is that I have every art supply known to mankind, yet I am always waiting to paint my masterpiece. As a result, I maybe finish only one painting a month. I either frame and hang it, auction it off at a local art gallery that supports the amateur art community, or give many paintings away as gifts. That's kind of fine I suppose, but by nature, I'm a producer. I would rather finish 200 midline quality paintings than to spend days meticulously working on one piece. It's a constant battle to be true to myself trying to be a prolific artist, and an artist who is happier because I don't stress while creating my works. I did buy some really nice sketchbooks a week ago, where you have about 150 pages per book. Times two sketch books equals 300 pages of paintings per pad. Two books purchased equals 600 pages of paintings. Since they came to my doorstep, I've sketched and painted three pages only. Each could be removed and framed. Here I am trying to get away from the perfectionist side of myself by journal sketching and painting. All I've really done is switch from painting on canvas, wood, and watercolor paper, to painting in an 8" X 11" sketch book. So far, it's taking me hours to finish one small painting. As I hinted to, I have to admit I'm addicted to purchasing art supplies at least twice weekly. The bottom line is from watching your video, I know I can get into the swing of creating art en masse If I can get through a week where I paint no fewer than two pages a day, I know I can do it. I know I'll be happier as a person. Again, thank you for giving me the kick in the ass (aka; motivation) I needed! As I'm interested in art I enrolled in interior design university in Egypt that's where I'm from and I love you so much 💙and because of you I love art more and because we study in college more technical stuff and not artistic as much as I wanted to I find myself always coming to your KZbin channel to get inspiration even though I know I don't have the time right now because of the finals but it just so relaxing to watch you painting and experiencing and the fact that you're not afraid of not fitting in the new art style or messiing the pages . that's why why I look up to you because often times I want to try new art style but I know for example I suck at portrait yet you you painted and drew 100 portraits and all them very good and that what motivates me to paint or draw a sketch or learn and no art style all because of you thank you so much for being the best role model ever in the world. Greetings from Egypt 💖🇪🇬love you so much

Great idea Min, and well done for sticking with it, you made some really beautiful art there. This challenge sounds like a lot of work. Just remember if you don’t end up getting it all done you did something and you should be proud of what you did finish. I really love your 30 Ways to Fill a Sketchbook challenge and I have gone back to it a few times. I might do it again and see if I can make some progress in some of my sketchbooks too. Thanks as always for the lovely video and putting the time in to share you thoughts and beautiful art 💜

This video is so powerful. I feel that i've been having artist block (as in creating art for my own enjoyment) for the past few years whilst finishing my undergraduate degree and it's so interesting how taking that time out and spending time with the materials really helps you to find your way back to it.

I just wanted to say I appreciate that you put a clock next to your sketches. It helps put into perspective how much time something took. I think speedpaints have skewed my idea of how long art takes and it's nice to see the process
