as a brand new player i don't even know what corruption is, I went into this thinking it was for new players, for instance I thought you could only have one religion, I wish you went more in-depth, but I'm positive it was very helpful to others, though I did learn somethings like magic isn't what I thought it was, I went into this thinking I could be like Gandalf, now I think magic is more utility I guess, there's still a lot I don't know though

During testlive, I set up my altar near a small encampment of exiles and would constantly go through and knock them out and sacrifice their sorry little butts. The sacrificial blood can come from any fighter/archer/dancer/bearer thrall so just sacrifice the little guys to kill the big guys.

Hey Wak A couple more tips: 4:00 As others mentioned, you'll want to pick Zath up too in F7. Helps with getting lots of skulls. Then after Mitra, instead of walking over to Conan, you can learn Midnight Alchemist at the Den and then take a shortcut there through the dungeon. Also right next to that is the easter egg door with the speical chest that may yield an early truncheon. Finally the Scuttler's Shortcut is also likely the most awesome place to use the resource gathering spell. Right in the area where the walls, pillars and ceiling are all covered with crystals you can't even reach normally, getting you many thousands of them at once. And yes, recalling the body with full inventory is broken. I don't want to give people ideas but that can be abused in various ways.

@@osoichan Derketo. With that route you get Yog, Zath, Set, Mitra and the first step towards Jhebbal Sag which you can't pick anyway. This leaves only Ymir and her. But Derketo's recipes are more useful, and Ymir is also on your way if you head north next - towards the Mounds & Black Ice after getting some basic gear, steel and possibly a thrall from the city.

Actually i have bumped into a method, you can bring all your stuff back quickly Without using the Circle of Power just by simply building a Stone foundation and place a PVP flag on it once you acquire all your materials just simply walk into the PVP flag area and accept the PVP message once you do then take your bracelet off and you'll respawn back at your base with all of your inventory no need to summon your corpse! it will save you a lot of time doing that method.

I wish I knew the 3.0 update was going to reverse the option I had for my disabled "drop everything on death" setting. I play solo, so my server options are all set to my preference, and I was not expecting them to reset with the update.

Maybe that is why my witch doctor knowledge is gone, and my crafting options in the cauldron is down to four. Have lost some options in the alchemist bench too. I think it is everything with the Witch doctor knowledge, but maybe more🤷🏼‍♂️

The crafting thralls always boosted the armor/weapons that way. Why it is now noticeable is because instead of percentage boosting 1base point of a stat, it is boosting a base of say 15 base points in stamina, for example. So, it is much easier to see the difference. I wonder if tier 4 still give the massive boost of +100% compared to tier 3 of +60% or if they balanced the tiers.

If youre playing Conan for a bit of time already its quicker to get the needed corruption with just using a godbreaker weapon for a second. No need to sacrifice thralls and craft that potion just for getting corruption

You need soul essence for corrupting stats though, so sacrificing thralls is more efficient, since you get corruption and the item needed to corrupt stats.

"Most of the spells are relatively useless". Yeah, that may be how it is in PVE, but in PVP the ice bridge, the bat flyer and especially the lightning storm are really op. I just absolutely trashed a large T3 base with a few lightning storm spells and it cost me almost nothing to do. Lightning even two shotted a vault!

I'd rather build a small base + teleporter instead of taking off bracelet.. thralls follow through TP, and i dont lose my sigils. Battle flag was the teleporter before 3.0.. so glad they brought teleporters.. siptah just got way easier

When I destroyed a teleporter I got less than half the resources back. Since you can't move it this is a bummer. You might want to test this and there may be a few other hi end items that also return less resources than you put in.

The yellow lotus potion is still buggy, there is a chance that you will lose some of the permanent-learned recipes. Better go safe with Bestial memory potion, bit tricky to get on Siptah map tho.

Yeah, I have found that anywhere a sorcerer spawns you can get a tier 4 spawn even in the newbie areas along the river.

Tier 1, 2, and 3 crafting thralls already have better bonuses to weapons and armor before 3.0 Before the Siptah revamp even. Each tier still reduces weight, increases durability, increases armor/durability. They used to increase the total attribute bonus to a set, but now increase each items special bonus instead. This isn't a new feature.

not all casts are useless if youw ant to raid a base that has archer thralls to guard just cast the darkness or the sandstorm with undead horde that way thrall guards are almost useless for defending and it gives you and your buddies time time to get in the base.

Well this way of playing the game is very effective but in the same time it kills the spirit of it. After having played the testlive and now the 3.0 for a lot of hours i notice that that wonderfull hammer is so nice to build things but in fact it almost makes all the workbench system obsolete and what you gain in efficiency you loose it in realism. For people who are mainly focused on PVP or Just want to have fun with friend in PVE it's great, but for people like me who are more focused on role play it's a trap. For example making an altar for a religion was a lot of work and dedication but now as you showed it in two clicks you switch religion in seconds. And it's the same for everything you build, before what you built had a certain value, you were proud of it but now, poufff!! you erase it and you build something else. It's very practical but also it removes a lot of value to it. That was my phylosophical moment of the day !!😆

It's a viable topic. Design is about how it feels, so even if the costs are the same the way you build it does make a difference, just as you say. Also I for example used to run around with finished parts like a chest in PvP to plop down and save some stuff in when I got into a fight. Or just all the parts to set up a forward base. Now I need to watch out not to accidentally spend/remove the ingredients in the meantime.

@@ViolosD2I Exactly, now when you need to carry something you have in a base to another, it's much more work and attention. You need top keep track of all the ingredients you will need. You can't just remember what parts every building element will need. Before it was simple, you build all you need in your base, load your bearer, go to you new base and just place them. I always had some stuff ready to use, but now i have to open the build menu with the hammer look at which parts i will need, make some calculations, gather everything and be carefull not to make a mistake or i have to go back to fetch what i forgot to take. And worse it takes more slots in the inventory, sometimes it's much heavier and so on. We should have the choice to either dismantle with the hammer or store the item whith the wheel menu as before.

Do any of the attributes mitigate temeperature effects (like survival used to do for cold and heat) or was that totally removed now? I've been looking at them and it seems like its all armor/food based.

Seems to be removed. Aside from the usual options (full Ymir with a torch is very accessible) the new Skelos Cultist Set sorcerers can't stop dropping, while it does require like...250? raw ash? at epic level will have you nigh-cold immune. You can possibly acquire that much ash without going into the volcano if you're cagey, and of course on Siptah where this doesn't matter at all raw ash is easy as candy.

@@Taggerattack2 Thanks for the quick reply. I had assumed but was somewhat hopeful as I used beefed survival for volcano runs. Hope this does add some viability to older armors though. I wonder if the temp shields are worth it (I remember one for heat and one for cold) though I dont remember them making an actual difference so unless they have been "fixed" other methods will take precedence.

@@LanceStone93666 I have been using those shields for a long while now. They have always had an affect while wielded. If you check your stats you can see your hot/cold resistance. It goes up several bars in the appropriate category while held. Did then, still does now. It may have seemed inconsequential in the past if you had the first vitality perk, and survival up as well.

You gain corruption after casting a spell. Corruption basically reduces your stamina and health cap, and keeps reducing if you gain more corruption. As bad as it may sound, you’ll have to have a certain percentage of corruption to cast higher level spells, so being at least 20% corrupted is beneficial. To remove corruption, you have to obtain an entertainer thrall. They will dance and remove your corruption if you’re in a certain distance of them. It’s super balanced once you learn more about it.

Think of it like Conan uses the different dances in it's different religions. Tribal dancing etc.. It's positive energy, protects, adds life, helps cheer you up, and raises your spirit. Therefore removing corruption

The size of the map is hard to say, It surely has a lot of biomes (a volcano, various deserts, snowy and rocky mountains, at least 2 jungles, multiple variations of savannah, obviously plains and riversides, etc). It's pretty huge overall as you need a few dozens of minutes (probably a few hours with the on-route incidents) to cross the map from one side to another. There are a lot of caves, hidden places and minor "dungeons", in addition to the true dungeons (where you're completely teleported, on another map). I would say there are a few dozens of the first and maybe 10 of the 2nd, depending on what you count. There is a pretty decent amount of secrets and things to discover/understand like a dungeon that you open by killing someone on a stone in front of it. Now with sorcery you also have minor events on the map where sorcerers invoke demons that are pretty hard to manage even at high level. There is a very intense craft system, a big building system that is closer to Minecraft or Rust than the games you cited, a big thralls (understand it as more or less slaves) and tamed animals system too with followers levels (up to 20), ranks (up to III plus legendaries), roles (alchemist, fighters, etc.) and kinda similar with animals (most have normal and great variations and their levels give them stats depending on the food you give them) which is needed to make the hardest dungeons if you're not 4 or 5 players together or using some OP builds. It's much more comparable to Ark, Space Engineers, and other survival open world games, but you add a good dump of lore with thematic dungeons, bosses, and elements of Conan's lore all around.

By comparison conan is just as good and i play it solo on a pve conflict server and i have built a big base, hoarded items for crafting later, n gained thralls that I’m fond of. Without a doubt worth it. Oh and I didn’t buy dlc. I’ve been playing for months on the same server.

If you're playing on PC, I'd suggest waiting for a sale. Not because the game is bad but because it may not be your cup of tea. It's a gun and very involved game but there's no real storyline guiding you through like the games you've mentioned. From what I've seen on various social media the game isn't running too well on consoles since the 3.0 update.

As someone else mentioned this is a “survival” game so it doesn’t have a really cool story and quests necessarily, it’s more like “Ark” where you kinda just farm resources, fight things, loot, tame animals and thralls, all to build a base of your own design almost anywhere you want on a massive map. Eventually after making a base you will have to defend it from massive raids of enemies called “Purges” they can be really hard but very fun. I’ve been playing with a friend and it’s been a good time to be honest. I’d play in single player to start or with a friend you know. Don’t just join a server.

Great info! Question .. did they remove our ability to make undead pets? They used to be on the alchemy bench. Now I don’t even see the feat. I still have a few left. But seems like they nerfed crafting skeletons

@@O-D-X you literally just gotta go to the unamed city and kill a few skeletons. On the other hand the cloth pouch requires gold dust which comes from underwater chests in the jungle and are rng. So yes I’m having an easier time with those.

@@TastyGamingQc Ah, I see the difference, I play on Siptah, and gold is easy to come by there versus undead camp are rare so your only real option for skulls is to run the demon vault over and over.

I don't think so. Most likely they were in creative mode, which is usually available to admins. It's pretty easy to become admin in Single Player

No, he even made a point of saying you need to store the components in the chest then when ready to make an altar, withdraw the components craft what you need then dismantle the altar and either build the next one or store the components back in the chest.
