AGGHH FINALLY ITS FINISHED I started making this video on late November and until now I was able to finish it :3 I had to take a few pauses due to commission work but YAY the video is finally here! This is primarily what my content is about which is art related videos such as resources, tutorials, etc not rant or commentary videos but I can do em once in a while…
Anyways let me know what you think of my video! Did you learn a few things or did you knew all of them? Let me know in the comments down below as well as if you want to see a part 2 :3
Video Sections:
0:00 What about
0:10 (1) Knowing what pencils to use
5:03 (2) Use colorful pen & pencils
8:10 (3) Eraser MATTERS!
9:29 (4) Put some weight into your lineart
10:10 (5) What alcohol markers should you use?
11:43 (6) Do color swatches
12:26 (7) Don't throw away your art!
12:58 (8) Draw outlines!
edit:
hii guys i know my vid is "things i wish i knew before starting to draw traditionally"
but the whole vid is just tips that I learnt through out the years on what works best in drawing traditionally.
Here's some insight that i forgot to include in my video lol:
(you can also considered it as a summary of the whole vid lol)
1) I used to have an issue with pencils because sketching was always so difficult. but using different types of pencils, using a kneaded eraser and even using an electric eraser helped me so much with my sketches and kept them clean and perfect for any art medium i wanted to put.
2) using colored pens and pencils just gives a very nice look into your art. I'm a sucker for colorful things and doing that tip made it so much better for me.
3) using random erasers always screwed my sketches, is just better to stick with a good eraser brand than using a shitty eraser.
4) adding weight to your lineart makes the whole artwork so much better, everytime i added it into my drawings it looked so amazing
5) this is just something i learnt from using markers, getting copic was always super hard to get specially when they are incredibly expensive. I learnt that by mixing brands its not worth getting a copic set of every color, mixing with different brands do the exact same trick and its less expensive.
6) color swatching is so helpful, its such a waste of time trying out the color u want to use. having a color swatch makes u visualize the artwork better.
7) i have a horrible habit of throwing away my art (i still do) the best thing that u could do is cover it up with a stickynote and try your best to still keep your old/bad art :,3 you never know when you want to look back and redraw it or see your art process through the years
8) outlines is such a nice touch lol

This one is really silly But if you're struggling to even get SOMETHING on a page, a thing that works for me is getting an exaggerated Pinterest reference pose and try to make the pose with a highlighter! Then freehand the drawing with colorful pens or normal black pens for line art. When you color the drawing the highlighter you use will act like (well a highlight) and make your silly doodles look very eye candy.

LMFAO I KNEW SOMEONE WAS GONNA MENTION THAT HAHA it is comfortable but if you do a circle motion holding the pen like that it does hurt and it is a bit uncomfortable 😭 i wouldn’t recommend holding it like that and instead holding it like it should be or as a fist since its less complicated and carpel tunnel is way worse holding the pen like that 💔

THATS SO SWEET THANK YOU!!! i tried to be as detailed as possible cuz now days ppl just slap a speedpaint and do a voice over.. personally i feel like its a very lazy type of content and it doesn't give anything entertaining to watch and doesn't show visual examples of what the video is talking about. so im glad i did a great work!! it definitely took some time since most of it was from scratch.

@@tomokokyun word! That’s what have been doing too! I just get in my head sometimes because I see such cool art and assume that everyone just does it from imagination even though that’s not the case at all. Thanks for the response :)
@tomokokyun
@tomokokyun 3 ай бұрын
@@stoneblockone8724 yeah no 😭 almost nothing is original sadly... i think the most original you can be is when you're a complete beginner and dont care how you draw tbh
@tomokokyun
@tomokokyun 3 ай бұрын
@@stoneblockone8724 i really recommend you surround yourself with art related content that usually makes you very motivated into drawing! such as twitter, instagram maybe tiktok and the best place pinterest although i have heard some ppl have gotten AI in their feeds (not me thankfully HAHA) but yea only follow artist and consume everyone's work it gives a huge boost into "i should be drawing too!' type of mindset
