When I colour with my copics I use Sakura micron pens. These won’t smudge if you lay down the ink first before colouring. I always allow a period for them to dry too. They are great to use on papers like Bristol board and card-stock.

Someone has likely already said this, but another thing that can cause copics to smudge is not waiting long enough for your inks to dry. Waiting thirty minutes to an hour for them to dry will usually do the trick.

Just some advice when it comes to Copics. I found that it's better to use a coloured pencil for your sketches and then you can lay down a Micron fine liner for the inking if you're planning to use Copics. Inking alone with an ink pot is fine for comics with no colour. :) For example, I traditionally drew Astolfo from the Fate series a few months ago. I used a pink erasable pencil, a pink Micron fine liner, and then I coloured with my Copics. Nothing bled because I looked into what works well with Copics. I've also used black and it has smudged on me before, so it's a lesson learned for both of us. lol Anyway, I love your style and I always watch your videos! Keep up the good work! :D

Just a little thing that annoyed me kinda, ink and pencils can smudge when youre wrtiting and thats a very valid excuse to be careful if youre left handed, when WRITING, when drawing right AND left handed people have to be careful because you dont have to start drawing from the left going over to the right, once again idk i just kinda got bothered and btw i am left handed and use pens and alot of smearable stuff so dont think im just being insensitive Its litterally such a small thing, im so annoying Oh wow, thanks so much for all the likes!
@juli59456 жыл бұрын
Anya Betourne That comment bothered me too. It's not like there's a side you have to do first when drawing, so it isn't really a left handed problem.
@maracianolivez83676 жыл бұрын
With writing you wont smug anything if you write the "correct way"(thats what my teacher called it). if you write this way the only part of your hand that touches the paper is the lower palm/wrist area. This will make it nearly impossible to smug writting.
@littleblueclovers6 жыл бұрын
Anya Betourne I thought the same thing! I'm left handed so writing in fancy pens is a pain for me, but drawing? That's never been a problem (or at least any more of a problem than right handed people)

Ik this video is old but just some advice for anyone who might want to try using ink similar to the one Lavender is using. nyosmia I guess, but it really doesn't look too good when on the black ink in the end. I ran into the problem at least multiple times and I wither had to use white paint or white out. Thanks for the recommendation though. Might just go with that.

you can use a small acrylic paint marker like a posca pen and it should be opaque enough!

Here is a tip: print out copies of that drawing so if you mess up on markers or inking etc you have other copies so it ain’t the biggest issue

Honestly, I'm pretty sure no matter what you use you can draw something decent. Love your art style so much, though. Reminds me of a cute fairytale and one of my favorite parts of your style is the way you do line art. :)
