What I did as a shovel work around for Blathers, since I got his site at 7:00, was use the free Nook Ticket and then buying one for 100 bells on the mystery island. I had bought the decent tool recipes before hand, so I upgraded to the metal.

when you time travel and then you play like normal, can you change the time back and still save what you accomplished?

yes I was able to but I didn't fast forward that many days ahead. typically I only do one to two days

Gaming with Abyss oh so you change the time and play then once you’re done you can change the time back that same day and at any time.

When you're done just check the auto-sync time for switch time settings. Game will play fine; no need to wait a day. Also the amount of days doesn't matter i went back to April and forward with no issues.

the game starts off slow and you won't unlock many of the stuff until you start completing your daily objectives.
