You can actually go near a tarantula and when it raises it's legs you stay still and when it puts them down you stop. Then you can get close enough to catch without them moving. ^^ (a way to do it without traps)

Scorpions act differently, they won’t chase you making the L method useless because they won’t chase you. Edit: They do chase you sometimes and charge at you from time to time, they also run away making them more difficult, the L method still works but scorpions are really inconsistent.

Same;;; I'm getting better at it but the first time I saw one (completely unaware they could spawn on your home island because everyone made them sound like mythical mystery island demons) I legitimately screamed;;;;; Best I can offer is to make a safety diamond/square to run back to (like how he made an L shape) and practice where you need to run to jump into the protected area (Warning: diamond safety box has larger gaps and they can squeeze in it sometimes. Square is best bet, but harder to line up your jump)

I have another tip, after doing this, DON’T sell the tarantulas to timmy and tommy, you can place them outside and wait for flick to come to your island and sell them to him, you will get 12,000 bells per tarantula if you sell them to flick, this will actually work with any bug you catch, if you sell them to flick you will get more bells

This is similar to the method I developed a while ago, when I first found out about goliath beetles. I would clear out everything except for palm trees, and grind out beetles, stags, scorpions and tarantulas. It took longer cause lots of things can spawn on the palm trees, but it worked for me. This is a LOT of work with regard to seasonal, location, and daily time constraints, not to mention that you’re using Nook Miles to do it. A much simpler and faster method (also without using time travel, glitches, etc.) that yields more bells is farming pumpkins. I built up over 40 million bells pretty quickly by farming pumpkins on my island. ZERO risks involved, either. Trapping tarantulas is VERY rewarding, though! Thanks for the video work. 👍

For people who see this and are struggling to catch tarantulas or scorpions. A while ago the game got patched and the spawn rate for them got lowered, seeing as loads of players were farming them easily, and making a ton of money.

Lonely_ Bananamilk if this helps you can make an easy 30-40K by swimming with an empty inventory and catching a full inventory of sea creatures and then selling them in the shop. Or you could just buy/sell turnips and use social media groups to visit people who have high selling prices, it worked very well for me.

I hoarded iron nuggets. Always hitting my rocks everyday. Always hit the rocks with nook miles tickets and rocks from Kappns Island with the update. Look up the best items to craft for profit. I had frying pan as a hot item one day. Went through all of my nuggets. The frying pan hot item goes for 3000 bells each and only take 2 iron nuggets to make. I have a diy bench right outside nooks cranny. I made a bit over 1 million in an hour of crafting.

I would say maybe save your sturgeons and tarantulas, or any expensive bugs/fish for flick and cj. I caught 13 sturgeons early in my game and saved them all and got 195k instead of 130k by selling them to cj. Also for new players, if you catch a fish or bug and you really like it, save 3 of them bc you can get 3d sculptures of them made by flick/cj who gives them to flick lmao . Its so disappointing to sell rare creatures and then flick shows up and you cant find them again in the same day . Just save 3 of the ones you like the most until flick/cj shows up on your island and you can get a sculpture in color . I got a goldfish sculpted and im waiting to get an emperor butterfly sculpted . Also i disagree w the blathers point. Give one tarantula to blathers. If youve caught over 30 you can give away one, the museum is actually really amazing and its much more involved than the critterpedia . Personally i donate the first of everything to blathers, he wont take duplicates of things unless you give them all at once

My method: stream your first time playing the game and some really nice player will come in, ask you to open your gate, and then proceed to give you 2 million bells as well as a crown worth 1,200,00 bells (alongside all the golden tools to give you a crap ton of Nook miles and a bunch of other resources). Thank you to this really nice community, that really sped up my game and got to the really fun stuff by a lot 😂

If you start about 4 hole spaces from a tarantula and get ready with your net in the swinging position and walk up slowly on it then the algorithm really won't recognize you and you can more efficiently grab the tarantula before it chases you and starts running circles. It works with scorpions too. I've never once used the hole wall trick after I figured out how the system recognizes you

A tip on this trick is to bring a garbage can to empty everything inside. :)

Sneak up on the tarantulas. Hold down A when you have the net out and slowly creep up on the spider. Tarantulas will hiss at you but won’t attack you if you stop. Slowly approach the tarantula and when it hisses, stop until it stops hissing and then continue. You can get as close as you need to to catch it without it attacking you.

Easier way, create a square shaped pattern of holes, find tarantula, run to holes and jump into middle of the pattern(which should be left without a hole), tarantula keeps running in a circle, you can get it, but it can’t get you

Fun fact: you don’t *need* a spider trap, it may be faster tho lol, you can just do it normal but approach it slowly and is it hisses (puts the front part up) don’t move until it’s over, do that until you are close enough and catch it ( you have to be like in the stance you are in when you press A holding a net)

@@zachary8055 so far I've been doing a combo of these two methods. I've only had the game for 3 weeks and in the beginning I would just fill my pockets with fish. But then I figured out how to swim and expand my pockets, so now I usually just fill them with sea creatures. I'd like to grow lots of fruit trees but I don't have any peach or apple yet, my native fruit is pears and I've got some cherries, oranges and coconuts. I really want peach trees because they're so cute 🤤

And also remember, Tarantulas will spawn in different month cycles, like how scorpions may only spawn at November and more. So if you done all of this and don’t see any tarantulas try looking in the critter Wikipedia in your ZL button to see if they’ll spawn in your month zone and don’t be afraid to time-travel (also bell vouchers are also a good option for bells to sell at nooks cranny with Timmy and Tommy, only costing 500 tickets and getting 9000 bells if you sell three of them)

Great way to catch tarantulas! I personally slowly creep on them with your net, stop every time they start to go up and slowly catch them at the right time. It takes patience, but this or your way are the best ways to catch tarantulas or scorpions

Quick re-cap 1. Go to an island between 7pm and 4am (better if raining) 2. Cut all trees, rocks and flowers down including stumps (No need for weeds) 3. Get rid or scare away bugs (including wharf roaches) on the island, except the Tarantula obviously 4. Catch Tarantulas 5. Get rich

Dropping weeds all over the rocks seems to prevent the wharf roaches from spawning. I've had them spawn on the rocks after doing that one time, but outside of that, it's worked great. Thinking I may have left a spot open or something when that happened.

Hey, creep up on them slowly and stop moving every time they raise their legs. It's a bit more time consuming but less anxiety then having them chase you. I find I sometimes dont hit the holes straight on and dont jump over them in time.

You really have to look for the random bugs that occupy the tarantula spawns, I've found that after cleaning an island there could only be 2, at max 3 bugs around at any time, if those are the little roaches on the rocks or anything but tarantulas they won't spawn so you'll have to find and scare them away, sometimes there might also still be some bugs on the ground on a higher level so you'll need to check with a ladder occasionally as well

To get sturgeon you have to get rid of all smaller fish in the river and then the sturgeon will spawn at the mouth of the river.

Considering other spawning bugs, the only way to make a tarantula island is in April (11th and later), because petals count as bug spawning, and there’s no crickets and higher chance of bamboo island. So I time travelled. It took me 1 hour of searching for perfect island without water (bamboo was the case) because I hate to switch tools to jump through the rivers. Then 30 mins of preparations and 4 devastating hours of running around and scaring off 2 kinds of bugs: hermit crab and tiger beetle. I don’t know if its a new patch or what, but I catched only 10 tarantulas, they spawned per 2, I think that game controls how much and how often you gain them, and sold to Flick this would be 120k bells. I could earn 120k with time travel in an hour. It’s totally not worth the time. I stick to selling fruit, bugs to Flick, fish to CJ and from latest patch: growing wheat, tomatoes, etc. to sell crafted Veggie Basket.

Ya’ll I found an island last night that had a three tier river system with water falls that was giving me all high priced fish! The only thing the ocean was producing was sea bass and olive flounder, so when fish weren’t in the river I’d run around the island scaring away the sea bass. In the river the only low priced fish it was producing was black bass, so I would just toss those back in. It was producing pike, soft-shelled turtles, snapping turtles, saddled bichir, arowana, and arapaima! I just kept throwing fish back until I only had arowana and arapaima. The island also had hybrid flowers I didn’t have yet, so I pulled some of those up but even with those I ended up making 300k!

bigspicychicken darn ☹️ I’m a little sad I chose the Southern Hemisphere though. I realized during Christmas it will be summer and not snowing 😢 (I’m from the US). Also currently the Southern Hemisphere doesn’t have tarantulas, we have scorpions. I did try clearing an island too see if scorpions will spawn and it does work! However there doesn’t seem to be a scorpion island. I’ve gone to mystery islands around 20-30 times and nothing ☹️

I just did this yesterday and it worked really well even after Nintendo made it harder. But one Tipp: Don’t work with the holes. I mean you can but it’s way easier to just go step by step to them. Go one step, when they start to „stand up“ and want to fight you, stay still. When they calmed down you go a step further. And you do this until you’re close enough to catch them. Bc I forgot that I used to do it like this and followed the hole thing and I mostly lost them in the water

To all the people who try this out and aren't catching a lot of tarantulas. I went through the same thing i wasn't catching any i was about to give up but i saw a shadow of a large fish and i caught a arapaima. That made me continue searching the island. So what I'm trying to say is maybe it's not a tarantula island but it could be an island full of super rare fish. I caught like 6 arapaima's 7 great white sharks and a lot more great fish. So don't be discouraged easily cause you never know what the island could hold!
