Great video!!! So important, even the nicest person can become so uncomfortable when dealing with a friend or family member with cancer, they just don’t know how to handle it. These are great tips and you did a wonderful job of dealing with a heavy topic is a light and humorous way!!! Love it and love you!!!

Hey there Tam Sad fact is people can be very mindless when it comes to others suffering! Admittedly many may not know what to say, so they should just stick to what they know.. I definitely got the “you don’t look sick” And “you need to put some meat on your bones” Cannot believe someone would say “you will laugh about this someday” Yeah the absurdity of that person..wow! 😅 To a woman hair means so much and these comments are typically coming from someone that has never endured much of anything. Enjoyed this greatly my sunshine You and yours have a beautiful safe and happy Easter ❤️🌸🍃💕

Another thing that dives me nuts that people say: oh I know someone who had cancer and they blah blah blah.. typically not a happy story. I keep telling myself: this is not my story, I have a happy ending. I wish they could just shut up and say nothing, instead of saying something that is not needed, not asked for, not supportive.
@tammysalamone-thepinksurvivor8 ай бұрын
That happened to me too!! I was so shocked. Why would you share with me a story where someone didn’t make it? 🤦🏻♀️
@jamiebond84818 ай бұрын
I had a psychologist telling me that I am denying my diagnosis because losing hair was traumatizing and because I told her I wanted so much to be done with chemo and return back to normal whatever that means. Even psychologists can be damaging. I’ve stoped seeing her.

That is so unfortunate! That’s a good example of someone who’s not been through it having any empathy. I’m sorry that happened to you. I hope you’re doing well now? Where are you in your life? Done with treatment yet?
@tammysalamone-thepinksurvivor9 ай бұрын
Yes absolutely that was something I found out as well! Some of the doctors and nurses were so insensitive and clueless! I remember telling one rude nurse right before my mastectomy, “this is routine for you but this is a big deal for me!” 😕 Thanks for sharing about your experiences too! Do what you need and unsubscribe etc … KZbin is frustrating at times 😜 Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

"One day you will look back at this an you'll just laugh? Really?? What wanker would even think to say something like that. The hair thing, that's something I'm going to have to remember, Usually though I'm at a loss for words when it comes to such thing and the best I could ever come up with is to be positive. I sure hope that isn't wrong.

Being positive is always a good idea! Yes! Someone actually said all of these things. 🥴 Thank you so much for watching!

Ok. I have kept my cancer treatments journey private. I mean, very private. I wanted to avoid people telling me all kinds of unsupportive crp. I only told a couple of people . In-laws were excluded. Not supportive, not helpful, would just be talking behind my back. You do NOT need to share your diagnosis with the world. You are NOT your cancer, cancer does not define you. Surround yourself with people who support you, care about you.

Absolutely! 💯 I agree with you. If people don’t lift you up then they don’t need to know. 👏💕

Hey you. I need to unsub, then resub because youtube is delinquent. My cousin, who lives in another country, just found out I had cancer (just tld her). She saw my profile pic on an app and asked what happened to my hair😂. She then went into a rant about this organization that she has joined. They sell natural products. I do not have a problem with natural products, but if i dn't know the cause I can't prevent the problem. "You will lose your hair, but it will grow back." My onco said this to me. I know it was not malicious, but this message should be delivered differently. Our hair doesn't just grow back. Like you mentioned, we are starting from scratch. They need to say something like, "you're going to lose your hair. It is going to take some time to grow back, but it will." Hair dwn one's back "just" dn't grow back....😂
