I’ve never related more to anything in my liiifeee, I also hate when people assume the reason you have no hair is because of cancer treatments and you have to awkwardly be like nah and they’re like oh ?

i got a buzzcut this summer because i needed to stop pulling (not only my hair was ugly but my arms were hurting) things have been great since! but i started school this week and some people have asked me what's with the hair. i've always been super open about having trich but these times when i told people, you know i cut it because of this disorder i have, bla bla bla, they all make awkward faces and make me feel like shit. i could punch those stupid faces. like, if you don't know what to say, say that you're happy that i'm doing better or just be honestly surprised about this disorder you've never heard about!!! i'll explain it to you!! but!!! don't look at me like that!!! 🤬🤬🤬 some people have just said "well it looks great" and we've moved on to another subject. you don't act uncomfortable if someone tells you they have a disorder, for fuck's sake! it's only been three days of school and i'm already tired of these people ugh i just needed to vent, i love your videos!💛💛

Wearing headscarf is super comfortable cause you have freedom to wear what ever you want, and you don't have to even care what people think and want they WANT you to wear. Forcing a lady to open her head cover is bad (scarf or hat or whatever it is), its actually an action of taking her freedom to wear what she want. Nonetheless ladies, we are all beautiful :) , no need approval from people.

Finding your channel has literally made me bawl my eyes out. I've suffered from this horrible disorder since I was 14, I'm now 27. I don't know why I never thought if it before, but I looked in the mirror and saw my completely bald scalp and just thought why not. I typed "Trichotillomania" into the search bar of KZbin ( a platform I've used for years) and it led me to your channel. I can't thank you enough... Honestly. You are such a beautiful person and I can't wait to see more and follow your journey. 😍 Kimberly from WA

love this!.. I've had trichotillomania ever since I was little and never actually got diagnosed or knew it was a condition until I was an adult...and I agree it helps so much to keep your hair shorter and not pull when I decided I wanted to cut my hair short again because I had started pulling more I got a reaction from the guy I was dating that caused a breakup because he literally forbid me to cut my hair telling me that my body and my hair was his property 😕😒

When I was in middle school, all my classmates knew that I have trich and when the teacher asked me to take off my hat all of them were just like. "Sir, she can wear that" "Sir she has something" sir this sir that. I was quite happy because my friends understood but some were like hey... if u can wear a hat then I can wats so special about u? I iust realized that I have a little advantage in this and it's because I kinda have confidence even if it's on me because I reached out and told people

I've tried really hard to find things that will force me to use my hands so that I don't pick my hair out all the time or so that i don't have to rely on my wig to prevent me from getting to my hair. the bullying for my hair length, sadly, It's made me really insecure, just wanted to share!

He realized his mistake and apologized over and over again to the point where I said that it was fine cause I'm a nice person like that. I guess I got lucky cause I was in a group with a lot of people and I don't think anyone saw. I still hate that kid to this day even though he was sincere.

Hi I just want to tell you, I thought it was bad as well that I did that and if I knew, that people out there go through the same I would have understood I wasn’t weird at that time. I started trich at the age of 10, or more like I noticed it at 10 I remember the exact situation. I also remember the exact situation to stop, when I was 12/13. I was on school trip, but didn’t want people to notice my missing lashes, so I used mascara and went into the bathroom before everyone else got up. But I decided for myself, that’s enough. I really don’t know how I did it, but when I came home I was so proud to tell my parents, that my lashes grow again and they were super proud as well. Till I found this channel I pretty much pushed this time of my life away from me. I still can’t really watch the videos, I don’t like talking about it so much, but I thought I need to encourage you, because I am 18 now and healthy ❤️.

In elementary, my teacher allowed hats inside her class, so in every pictures they took for fun photos, u would just see my 11 year old ass, with a winter hat on, but when we had to go into the school, I always had to take my hat of, even though I have told the principle about my trick, even though my bald spots weren't visible under my long hair, I was still ashamed about it. Then my mom cutted it shorter every like two months. Now my head is shaved and I wear my dad's old baseball cap, but I'm still ashamed.

Edit: also in middle school, and my hair was almost shaved. I had some guy friends and they asked me what happend to my hair, and I said that I had a disorder, but they dident question why. Then one time I was in class and a girl decided to take my winter hat off, and say my now visible bald spots, then she called me cancer girl and spread it all over the class, but my friends protected me, even my sis.

Yeah... I hate when my sister says "stop pulling it then." Oh yeah like I can just magically stop all the triggers, impluses, and ichyness, and tell my fingers to stop pulling them all together. 😑 It's like telling her to stop being depressed or stop being black or something💁🏾‍♀️ I want to stop, but then again... I kinda don't?... i just want it to slow down or stop pulling in particular areas... I've had therapy 3 times after stopping lol (like had therapy then stopped then started again) it's been getting easier, but yeah I love this video...

I’ve just recently found out that what I’ve been doing for years is actually called Trichotillomania. Years ago when I would pull out my hair, it wouldn’t be as bad, you know? It would usually just be one strand every other day/week. and I wouldn’t tell anyone other than my mom when I went to her house because it wasn’t a big deal. But recently, through these last 2-3 months, it’s been a lot worse. I pull out hairs EVERY DAY that I call “bad hairs” because they have more texture/thickness than my normal thin hair. I’ve talked to some of my family about it more and they just keep telling me “stop pulling out your hair. You’re gonna get a bald spot. That’s gross!” But what they don’t realize is that, yes, I know I might get a bald spot, and I know it’s bad for me, and I know that it’s gross but it’s not like I’m doing it on purpose! Sometimes I’m doing it and don’t even realize it. It’s kinda like telling a smoker to stop smoking. They know they could get lung cancer or another type of disease, but they just don’t know how to stop. They can’t bring themselves to stop. They need support and guidance to help them get through it because they can’t do it by themselves. For me, and everyone else who has any disorder, needs support, and guidance for them too. We can’t go through it by ourselves because it isn’t even CLOSE to being easy. This video helped me realize that I’m not the only one going through this. If you’ve read all the way through, thank you for reading my story.

I feel like if Trichotillomania gets more known, kids in school would be like “I’m allowed to wear my hat because I can” but really they’d be lying and then everyone would start doing it and they would probably end up banning hats because they don’t know if people are lying or not

Hi again Meg. I just came upon your previous video about cornsnakes and I did comment about it, good comments don't stress 🤗. So I hope you still do KZbin videos and would be able to read this even if it's a year later.. In the first video I saw you, I thought wow, you are so beautiful and look gorgeous in your short hair, but I talked about corn snakes 😂. Yeah so, like Trichotillomania is something I have never heard about before. Although, the freaking EYEBROWS I totally heard of because that is me. I have super light and out of proportion eyebrows, I used to colour it in with a brown eye pencil when I was in my 20's. But then with all the nagging from my ex husband and his folks, I had ppl put on PERMANENT eyebrow (like a tattoo style) on my face. Since then I had it done four times, last one was just before me and ex hubby's wedding. So, I have seriously always wanted to shave my hair like yours but I am quite like....okay so you are well build and you have a great bone structure, but me, I have more fat like..i my face bla bla bla. Hopefully you will get this msg 🦎🐉😊 You look beautiful, your hair totally suits you and I love your funky personality! 💞. And since I'm freaking single now and almost turning 37 on 5th December 2020, I may give myself my dream of cutting my hair off! And I won't let anyone get to me, well I will try really hard. Lots of love Minette from South Africa xoxoxo

Trich stories: 1. I have this thing with paper where I like need to fold the edges or something. Kinda hard to explain. Anyways, I didn’t want to ruin school notebooks or regular books so I got a pad of sticky notes and drew in it because I finished early in stuff and had the time. (5th grade btw.) So I’m chillin with my little sticky note sketch book when some of my friends/classmates come up to me and are like “omg you should totally make a flip book.” Or “Why did you draw this?” Sis, I didn’t even tell you that you could look through it in the first place. 😄 2nd: someone took my sketch pad notebook thing, looked through it. On one page I hade a spiral. Just a simple spiral. They then told me “you drew it wrong.” TOOK IT AND DREW IN IT. Without any permission at all. That was fun 😃 3: I don’t remember the entirety of this story, but I thought trich was like a superpower so I was showing of my skill to some “popular girls.” They were empressed. And later asked me to do it agian. After I told them that it was a mental disorder that developed last year.

Hi and omg thank you for making a video like this I'm glad I'm not alone. I have trichotillomania and my step dad thinks I'm doing it for attention. Which I'm not.

I get it when people are geuinely curious but they could approach the situation differently. I've constantly gotten: "Where are you eyelashes?" "I just noticed you have like no eyelashes" MORE THINGS _NOT_ TO SAY: "It's only hair." "Doesn't it hurt?" "You'll grow out of it." "You look like a a frog." "You did this to yourself." "That's freaky/weird/gross." "What if it never grows back?" "You'll end up completely bald" "Do you enjoy pulling your hair?" "Is this something on you have?" "You should stop, I see bald patches" "Why don't you try eyelash extensions?" "Try to relax. Maybe focus on something else?" "Have you tried pinning your hair back or putting it up." "You used to have such pretty hair/eyelashes/eyebrows." "How can you not notice when you're pulling your hair out?" "I get stressed too but I don't pull my hair out because of it." "Notice when you're pulling and try to focus on something else" "Maybe you should see a doctor. Maybe there's a medicine or cure for it?" "Don't cover up your bald spots. Maybe you'll stop if you see the damage." HOW TO _HELP:_ 1. Help identify patterns. 2. Ask how you can be supportive. 3. Change environmental factors, if necessary. 4. Help brainstorm coping skills and tools to help prevent hair pulling. 5. Encourage healthier means to express and cope with difficult emotions.

I shaved my head for the second time recently. Only this time I have many bald spots I didn't know about that are visible and I'm so disappointed that I shaved my head again. I was so excited. Now I look like I have cancer or something, lol. :D fml.

I started pulling at the start of 8th grade. I came back to school with the side of my head bald. One of the first things I heard was “Yo, did you get attacked by a lawn mower?” Yeah, I wasn’t too impressed by that 😂
