Acne is so tiring. Sometimes I look in the mirror and just think: I’m just so tired of doing this, I just want to have a normal face.’ Why should we have to suffer

Esme Hamer so true. I started getting bad acne about a year ago. It’s not “horrible”, but it’s getting worse everyday. And I’m tired of trying to get rid of it, if it just ends up getting bad. It’s even worse when people constantly point it out. Like can you please stop. 🙁

I've had Acne for seven years. I got it when I was ten. My worst years are over but I don't think it'll be gone soon. And I'm just so tired. When I started to get my acne, I was the only one who had it. People started teasing me and told me I got a disease, they started comparing me to others and told me I'm ugly. That was the time I started to hate myself and I was only ten. Thankfully I'm almost eighteen now and I am surrounded by people who are more mature. I am still one of the only girls who got acne but I don't find myself as ugly as I used to. But I'm still tired, cus on some days it is worse or sometimes it just hurts to touch my skin. But I hope it will leave me alone someday xD

That is why whenever you wear it you should do a deep cleanse, but you know what is the main cause of acne? Genetics, you know what I can't deep cleanse?"

She was recommending so many face washes too. My sister was feeling so self conscious. She's always had acne and she doesn't like when people talk about it. I understand bc I also have really bad acne. But my sister even told her that she wasn’t comfortable talking about it. She literally ignored my sister and continued to talk about her acne. This girl even had the nerve to say "your face is so gross right now you should put some makeup on" and my sister was like "oh well this is actually the best it's been in a while" and she basically made that yikes face and started recommending more treatments. People like that are so annoying.

@lyricalizabeth37016 жыл бұрын
I agree. I know its not a competition, but it IS frustrating to see people with hardly any acne (in comparison) and the comments they get. Because it puts you in this zone where you can't relate because they DON'T have acne as bad, and if there's is considered SOOO bad, then what do people think about mine? I know its still very hard for them, but if their gonna make a video about people with acne, at least include people who have NOTICEABLE acne. Until they showed the pictures you couldn't even tell they had it. Again, I know its still hard for them, but THEY ARE MAKING A VIDEO ABOUT WHAT ITS LIKE WITH ACNE, WHEN THEIRS IS HARDLY NOTICEABLE. And I know they have makeup or whatever, but even in the pictures its practically nothing, just normal acne everyone struggles with in day to day life. If they showed people with cystic acne, or acne worse than average teenagers, THEN it would be more relatable, as apposed to just a couple spots or pimples. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BTW, sometimes ONE cystic zit is enough to cause constant pain on your face, make your whole body feel uncomfortable, make most of your mental energy focus on the zit. I can understand how it may look like not a big deal to an outsider, but to the person with the acne, it's can literally take a toll on your mental state, especially because you feel like there's nothing you can do about it. It's out of your control. When they showed their zits, I almost cried because I know how painful it is. Please be emphatic with us

Even their "bad" pictures are good. Literally everyone has acne at some point but this video implies that their face looks like a pizza at times. The whole idea of this video implies that the people would suffer from acne badly with scarred faces, redness across their face, acne appearing everywhere from their forehead to their back and self conscious; not a few spots in one location.

You get the same effect with contraceptives (because they mimic a pregnancy by making your levels of estrogen and progesterone go up) which are a very popular acne medication; I myself take contraceptives for my acne, but it really hasn't helped my face at all. I've got acne, and I've had depression and I've given into all the rumours. I shower twice a day I don't eat dairy I don't eat meat I change my pillows everyday I keep healthy and work out I've been on Isotretonoin for a year and numerous other medications. I don't pick or touch (yet my face is covered in scars) I get enough sleep. Yet here I am.. Still covered in acne. It fucking sucks.

Dark Night aaaaaaa this is like a month old but don't shower twice a day!! It can dry out your skin which makes it produce even more oil to compensate (I got told off by a dermatologist for it haha)

I feel your pain. I never had full face/ body acne until 3 months ago and it's a quite an experience. When I used to get it as a teenager, it was barely ever mentioned. Now it's mentioned almost daily. And now that I'm dieting ( no meat, no dairy) and have no results, I get told "Why don't you take care of yourself?" and "Stop cheating on your diet."😖 The funniest part to me is I've always was mistaken for being very young, and now even more so because of the acne. I'm okay with that.☺

Dear acne sufferers, you will never please everyone. I've been told to wear makeup. So I did. Then I was told my makeup was causing it. So I stopped. I've been told to drink more water (even though I drink so much water I might drown) and to go vegan. But I know if I go vegan, I'll be attacked by vegan haters and meat lovers. So I try to shrug it off. You are beautiful, and I promise, acne doesn't have as big an impact on attractiveness as you think. Imagine Zac Efron with acne. 15/10 would still smash 😂

There is only one magic cure for acne. Acceptance. You just gotta learn that it's your skin, and it's okay. It's not a secret. Your friends know you have acne, but they're still friends with you! I'm trying hard to love myself, and it's working. I'll have some days where I feel my polka dots are cute! But I still have the days where I want to rip off my face and cry. But we're a lot stronger than others give us credit for. So work it! Because you are gorgeous, and no one cares NEARLY as much about your skin as you do.

I'm going to say this, and yes, I know it's really weird you don't need to remind me. I actually like the look of acne scars on men. I think it's somehow hot. Maybe it adds character to the face or something, I don't know. As far as active acne I don't care either way, it doesn't make you more or less attractive. And I'm referring to any type of acne too, so even if it is severe cystic acne, it literally makes no difference in your level of sexiness. I myself don't have acne and am not a pop-a-holic, so I literally have no clue where I got this view. I guess I'm only saying this because it makes me sad that some people think that they're ugly because of acne. :/ Just know there is someone for everyone and you're probably a lot more attractive than you give yourself credit for! :)

I've struggled with acne for a long time since I was 13. I've tried everything. Face masks, anti acne treatments, mud masks, face creams, exfoliating (I exfoliate occasionally because I heard that over exfoliating can cause more acne), and I'm still trying to keep my skin clean to this very day. I've developed a skincare routine that kinda helps (I try not to wash my face everyday. More like once or twice a week). And I sometimes try to embrace everything I have, including my skin.

@norakelley51125 жыл бұрын
Hey my friends with acne! Something that's not talked about when treating acne is skin pH. Your skin should be at a pH of around 5.5 and people with acne often have more acidic skin. So there are two options: you can get pH testing strips if you want to test before treating your skin for pH. Or if you want to just start using an alkaline face wash (pH above 7) to see if it will help. Like anything it takes a few weeks to make a real difference so be patient. Castile soap is great. Just make sure you moisturize after washing because the soap can be drying.

I almost cried when they showed their before photos 😭 I felt like I was really feeling their pain. People don't seem to understand that cystic acne will not just go away with a cream and can stay there for weeks, even months! And it's not because of bad hygiene. The thing that upsets me the most is people saying judgmentally "you have a spot on your face", and the home remedies: put vics vaporub, toothpaste... Someone even told me to put saliva on them..which is disgusting and bad advice because you're actually putting more bacteria on it.

@paulaangelina77506 жыл бұрын
BRBt What is that? I've never heard of it.
@XXXTENTAClON2276 жыл бұрын
Polly P. Isotretinoin is Oral Vitamin A, usually goes by the name Accutane. It’s job is to decrease sebum production by destroying sebaceous glands, shrinking pores, and reducing inflammation while killing bacteria. It is a very hardcore drug due to the fact that it takes around 4-6 months before you can stop, and it can cause side effects that might make it quite uncomfortable such as very dry skin, an initial breakout, joint pains and the most common one being chapped lips. However it is a last resort due to the fact that you can use Topical retinoids which is essentially Vitamin A in a lower dose (Adapalene, Retin-A etc.) combined with antibiotics which can actually have the potential to clear the majority of people completely. I’m guessing you knew this once I said it was Accutane but I wanted to give as much information possible for anyone else haha

My friends say they have really bad skin and I'll talk about my acne and they say I don't have any, like you don't have to be nice I know I have 10 million blackheads on my nose and forehead and heaps of pimples.

I always just figured my acne kept the shallow snakes away. Good riddance. Never had the problem of "fake friends" XD

Then there is the infamous "have you tried Proactive?" I would if I gave two shits.

I got cystic acne two years ago and my live changed forever. I always insecure whenever i go somewhere. Feeling like people laugh at me. Crying for no reason. And now, I'm slowly recovering. I don't have any acne anymore, maybe few but not the dangerous type. Cystic acne will always leave scars so now I'm dealing with scars which is a lot harder. Please don't keep downgrading people like us. We're working on it ♥
