I "logged off" of R. Kelly back in 2002 when the charges of him urinating on a 12-year-old were made public. And IT WAS public; it was a huge news item. The fact that he was acquitted - and the sketchy reasons for it (namely, that it seemed he paid off the victim and her family) - were also widely reported at the time. I'm most shocked about the fact that it went so quickly under the rug. That really makes no sense to me.

That kind of assumption has allowed some terrible things to happen.

I was r@ped when I was 14 by a co worker (I worked summers for our school system getting the schools read for the next year) The coworker was also 14. I didn't say anything until I was 17. The day before I had said anything, one of my good friends had died in a snowmobile accident. There were councilors at the school for talking about the person dying. The young man who raped me, walked up to me and snapped my bra so hard that it broke the bra strap. That was the moment that I had enough of the harassment. I told one of the councilors about it. She got our Vice Principal and had me tell him about it. The VP literally looked at me and said "Are you sure that you had not done anything to turn him on?" He literally blamed me for it! My parents were called in and the whole thing came out. Because I had waited so many years and the fact that we were both under 18 when it happened and when I told, The kid got mandatory counseling and had to stay 50 feet away from me. Which is kind of hard when you are both seniors at the same school. When we were being lined up to get our diplomas, We were put together because of our last names. I made a complaint about it. The same VP told me that if I didn't calm down I would not graduate!! Again my parents were called and we were switched with other people. I got teased horrendously about it.I almost said Fuck it and didn't attend my graduation ceremony because of it.

The signs were there in R Kelly's first ever song! His debut song, "She's Got That Vibe" was about women that turn him on, i.e. she has that "vibe". The lyrics of the full version includes "LITTLE CUTE AALIYAH's got [that vibe]"! The song was released in 1992. How old was Aaliyah at the time? 12 years old! What was the name of R Kelly,'s second album a year later? "12 Play"! R Kelly MARRIED Aaliyah in 1994 when she was 14/15 years old!! He was called out for it on BET in an interview with them both. The signs were there from day one!

It's why I only play older everything as far as music at least. And actually listen to what my kids are listening to and they know the rule in my house. My parents thought Aerosmith and Black Sabbath were interesting but they certainly were always explained by their artists, and were never dark or bleak. And from my p.o.v.( out n about in my 20s in the early 2000s in South Florida), it was definitely an OPEN secret as to how messed up puffy and r Kelly were/are. Ya think the " workers" they hired or the girls they abused didn't tell everyone how freaky etc all those ppl were? I live in the same city that Brian" Marilyn Manson" went to high school in. Everyone knew everything. That's what made em all so sick!! They didn't even TRY TO HIDE IT OR JUSTIFY!! The story the movie "Bully" was based on took place in was right down the street from my high school, and took place at the time i went there. I know people that knew them. So um yeah I don't know who is saying that they were fooled or didn't know. These jerks didn't hide s**t. And yet you'd see women who had full on knowledge about it, lining up to be abused🫤🫣😡 People, teach your kids right and wrong, and make sure they know their worth.

I was born in 1958 and even though I never got to hear and see Buddy Holly live on stage, today I'm still a massive fan of his music. His music was played throughout the 60's and 70's My youthful days, alongside hits of those years. He was ahead of his time and a decade before the greatest music decade of all time the 60's. His music helped me fall in love with great rock music and living in the UK during the end of the 60's and since Metal and rock were the music choices alongside the sounds of disco and pop. Today given a choice of what to listen to I go for either rock or Beethoven for me the first true rock star. Pop music is all to often so what sound just like... Other words pop is very much blaa blaa blaa it all sounds neigh on identical no matter who sings it. Then once and a while we do get the odd wow who is singing this, but that is a rarity.

The rule about Method acting is that it only extends as far as the actor. It should *never* extend past them. I’ve known multiple actors who were physically assaulted onstage by performers who hid their abusive behaviour behind the banner of Strasberg’s Method. I’ve also known many people who utilise it properly. It is supposed to be a way for actors to tap into their own reality/background/emotions to bring authenticity to their art, not as a way to harass/harm others. Using it this way is honestly a huge red flag about both them as a person and as an artist.

Surprisingly, he sounded pretty good. Just think how much difference it would have made if he'd stuck to music instead of turning young people into murderers. He could have been famous rather than infamous.

I remember the controversy when Guns n' Roses covered one of his songs on "The Spaghetti Incident".

He was actually looking for Doris Day's son, Terry, who was a music producer, the night those people were killed. The house was being rented to them because his beach house was having break-ins, so he'd moved in there for the time being. He'd just turned Manson down for a record deal, and in unrelated trivia news, was living with Candice Bergen at the time. 🤔

A lot of those songs just say what the singer/songwriter does or plans to do. And some are creepy.

I can easily separate art from the artists. Seems like most Hollywood actors have turned out to be horrible people. Still love a bunch of movies with bad people acting in em
