Never liked hyde. He tried to actively steal donna all the time from his best friend and the show tried to act like what he was doing was alright? Lots of weird stuff going on there honestly. His character got too much respect sometimes even though he didnt deserve it. They made such a big deal about Eric accusing hyde of stealing money from him ,which admittedly if true is a terrible thing to do but hyde tried to steal Donna all the time. And then red foreman gives Eric this speech of “Eric hes your friend how can you accuse him of stealing” hyde tried to steal Erics girlfriend and gets no speech like that? No its cool when hyde does anything I guess. Happened more then id like to admit because i grew up with the show but that betrayal he did to eric just made me dislike him from the start. Thats not a good friend, Eric even gave him a home when he was abandoned

If you want an example of a GOOD celeb apology, look to Tom Petty. He was called out for using the confederate flag in promo for/concerts featuring the song Rebels, which he didn't realize the connotations of as a white dude from Florida before the internet was a resource (and as a white person who grew up in Florida, I can confirm that it's super normalized down here). You know what he did? Gave a genuine apology that wasn't overblown woe-is-me crocodile tears OR an "I'm sorry you felt that way" non apology (I believe his exact words were "it was downright stupid") and *stopped using the confederate flag.* It's literally that easy: genuinely apologize, own up to your fuckup, and then change your actions going forward. Just one of many reasons he was the GOAT. May his memory be a blessing.

Here’s the thing, though: Michael Richards, not the character he played on Seinfeld for a decade or so- don’t know why people still do this- did admit that his apology on Letterman was absolutely ridiculous. He was utterly bombing onstage and would later admit that he should have agreed with the heckler said to him. He’s also gone on to admit that his reaction to the heckler was racist, mean-spirited, and, least importantly, not funny! What I mean by that is there are ways to handle a heckler that can successfully walk the line without resorting to the disgusting barrage of asinine, Jim Crow, horrific nonsense he spewed at the Apollo. Unlike other people on this list, however, Richards at least had the decency to admit what he did that evening was wrong as opposed to doubling down.
