Mac tonight scared the hell out of me as a kid.. that is until i saw him at a parade and he fell face first, for a minute we couldn't tell whether or not the mask made a makeshift guillotine

Cannot wait for those future videos! There's something about that era of TV that is just the best. We had lots of weird and wonderful shows here in Australia that remind me very much of these.

I'm happy that there are people out there who would actually like to listen to me talk about swedish Santa Claus😅 Yeah, something about the production just felt way different from today. More atmospheric somehow.

@chriswingerTV absolutely. Also not afraid to lean into the absurd amd dark. And practical effects are always the best.

And that's not even the creepiest part about Pettson, in my opinion. Those weird, sped up segments during the "lucköppning" creeps me out so much. That weird music that plays along with it... just really uncanny. Cool to hear someone talk about my favorite calendar.
@chriswingerTV21 күн бұрын
I'm too young to remember that part and I can't find it anywhere! I need to find it now!😯 The music throughout the whole calendar has a kind of unhinged sound. I like it.
@awlawla21 күн бұрын
@@chriswingerTV Keep an eye out for when they put it back on svt play. But yeah, the music is very special, I like it too. Oh, and my favorite moment as a child: hyveltjuvarna. That's another creepy moment, because something is happening to the audio when the thieves are stealing the tools, making their voices sound really distorded and weird.

Yes! And the light from their flashlights is leaving little trails of light in the dark 😆

When I was a kid, I always loved horror. I’m not really sure what the reason was but I just did. I read a lot of horror kids books and I DID have a wild imagination when it came to that. Two things that scared the crap outta me. Night of the living dummy and the movie Monster House. I think I had a dream about it but my memory isn’t so good. Now if I were to watch that movie again I would! I had good memories of that despite being scared. 😅

I had Night of the living dummy on vhs back in the day! Maybe you're talking about the book though. The live action version ever really scared me but I watched over and over.

Thank you!😁 I was too old when I saw that the first time I think. There was something called Urban Legends on the internet long ago that someone made in flash. The episode about ghosts freaked me out the first time I saw it!

8:19 I think we had a short runtime of this calendar in Finland. If I had known it had such creepy undertones, I probably would have watched it. As a Halloween person myself, I've started to appreciate Christmas again as an adult, but most Christmas specials haven't fallen under my radar (yet).
@chriswingerTV22 күн бұрын
Oh, really? Do you have your own tv calendars too each year in Finland?😊 There are a lot of good adaptations of A Christmas Carol if you ever feel like something spooky and Christmas related. The Muppets Christmas Carol is really great if you like gothic ghost stories.
@marsmellon22 күн бұрын
@@chriswingerTV Yes! We have a few new ones but a classic calendar is "The joulukalenteri" (1997) It has music, and tonttuja (tomten?) and a bad creature that eats them. (antagonist) It's humor has captivated adults and children alike, and it's only done with three actors even though it has six character's.
@chriswingerTV22 күн бұрын
Perhaps I should check it out! I'm a bit obsessed with tomten and stuff like that.

Chris sorry to tell ya but if you had grown up around me as a kid and I know what scared you me and my friends would have scared the pee out of you for laughs. When I was 11 I grossed out my grandmothers boyfriend and made him vomit when he happened to glance at the horror movie I was watching called Blood Sucking Freaks. Everything that scared you growing up I saw as entertaining because the adults around me would tell me that's all it was.

All you'd need is a bedsheet! Maybe a Santa mask. He must have had a weak stomach! Never seen anyone throw up because of a movie 🤣
