Great advice for us petites! Even though I’m slender, I was never happy with how I looked in the 2000s-2010s, then I realized it was because of all the long shirts and tunic tops we were wearing then. I changed to waist-length or fully-tucked in tops and jackets and the improvement was so dramatic, I near wore a long top again. My legs are relatively long for my petite frame, but they looked like stumps in all those thigh-length tops. Those aren

Yes, thank you for stating this. I am petite and have short legs as well. And whenever I say, I can wear a long coat with an acentuated waist, everbody looks a bit skeptical. But I find it works perfectly as long as the coat doesn't end exactly at the knee but either above or somewhere below. And yes, low rise trousers or jeans are terrible. I don't even like how they fit. I always have the feeling that I have to pull them up, even when they are in the right size.

Chi, once again thanks for visually showing the difference between tapered and wide leg/straight leg pants. Ugh, now to obliterate tapered pants from my work clothes and probably casual clothes too...

Wait, not so quick. If the pants look slightly short on a short person, the mind processes that subcontiously as - the pants don't seem to be long enough = therfore, person too tall for those pants. And, when the pants are slightly too long on a short person, the brain processes that as - the person is not tall enough for those pants - therefore, too short for those pants. I hope I explained that correctly. It's an illusion.

While I agree with most suggestions, I feel if you purchase a small scale print on a wide leg pant looks great on a petite. I don't like to be put in a box on what to wear, life is too short pardon the pun! I do love your options that you suggest for petites!

I like a defined waist, but if I use a belt I prefer a matching rather than a contrasting colour because the contrasting colour would just add another horizontal band that makes me look wider even though I am slim, it still makes me look wider and cuts any monochrome outfit in half

Your ideas are great for length and ratio to the body ! Have you thought of those nude shoes we can match to the outfits we need to know where to get the right color to match our pants or like I mentioned nude shoes have you thought of including shoes to sell on your website …. And if not maybe you can suggest where to purchase other than Amazon maybe direct to supplier or manufacturer maybe you can get a percentage for your referrals with a discount code then they know it’s your clients… maybe others don’t have much of an issue but I am a size 5.5 depending on a narrow cut or not it’s a size 6 for narrow… as you mentioned we should wear pointed shoes with a kitten heel or even 2.75 inch heel but I find 3 inch heels are too uncomfortable to walk in for much of the day… the pointed shoes are most recommended nude or close to skin tone so where do you recommend we can buy them have you thought of passing on this information ? Thank you for styling tips now we need some information of how to find shoes with small sizes and matching accessories or even size appropriate handbags … good luck to your petite clothing line all the best Chi ❤

Can you get a petite model with longer legs? Not all petite people have short legs! Some have shorter bodies that brings different issues to solve eg waistline sits too low, bulky volume looks bad.

I agree. I think I have longer legs. High waisted jeans look terrible on me. I do not have a lot of waist, between my hips and the bottom of my rib cage, which makes them physically painful. With a shirt tucked in my torso looks really short. With a longer shirt and high waisted jeans, you often cannot see the zipper, which I think makes the jeans look weird. I prefer a midrise boot cut. I get a slightly fitted less bulky look, a wider leg opening that helps them with not bunching up and just barely not brushing the floor. A flowy top with that type of jean looks very balanced on my petite frame.

What skirt length would you recommend? I tend to stay away from mid-lengths so that would include a mid-length coat. I still prefer bootcut or straight slim jeans/pants, those that are wide from the hip down like the ones you're wearing and that are so trendy now still make you look wider even when they cover your shoes

I actually think the plush pink looking pants with the tappered leg that is ankle length makes your legs look longer, imo. Because the longer pants with wider leg seems to make you look shorter, imo.

I like the pink pants, too. I don't think the one looked much better than the other, though. They both looked good to me. I've seen petite women in cigarette pants that looked amazing. Not my thing because I have bulky legs, but on someone with slender legs, 🎉!

Agree, the pink pant looked great, also the Pattern on the wide leg was too big but get a small scale print on a wide leg for the summer and it looks great with a simple tee tucked in.

I am a little confused that you are suggesting a single breasted trench coat and are only showing a double breasted trench coat on your petite dressing website.
