I relate so much.. Quitting is an irreversible decision, especially in this economy. It is a very difficult decision to make. But for me, I decided to choose my happiness first and my mental health has improved significantly. It's therapeutic listening to this . Thank you. It is a great reminder that we really do need to prioritize our mental health first (instead of choosing what we think is "best" or what others want from us)

After working for more than three years in an industry that requires working 70+ hours per week, it's time to go, not because I just watched this video. But I made the call on my own. And thank you for sharing this video. It reaffirms my decision, and I am not apologetic at all.

I work in hospitality and I've been wanting to quit and change industry (I'm studying marketing). Even on the good days I still want to quit, my body is completely exhausted from working shifts with low staffing. What's worse is that I think I'm exaggerating and it's actually not that bad. But switching to a different industry is so daunting when you have limited experience and are still studying 😢

hey Lorena, it does sound scary to venture into the unknowns! Stayed tuned for the video I'm posting next, it hope it'll give you a peace of mind, that you're going to be ok! Best of luck in marketing, and whatever comes next, I know you're going to be amazing. Be kind to yourself, you got this!

Oh no thinking about what I would regret if I died tomorrow gave me my answer I think. Shit. I would regret not taking the time off to actually destress. I start in a new team in the same company on Monday (which was sprung on me as a surprise last wednesday) and literally had a mini holiday a week ago. The fact that I am fully stressed again and need an actual break is glaringly obvious to me now. 😢

hey Rianna, sorry to hear about your situation. Remember to be kind yourself, listen to your body. Take care!

I've been working as a mailman for the last 1,5 years. Aside from doing that i walk the dog three times a day. I don't have a car and ride the bike everywhere (granted it's electric). But despite all that i somehow managed to gain significant weight. As a result i'm always exhausted, always tired, taking naps every other day, which only stresses me out even more and results in even more coping behavior such as eating. I also do nothing anymore in my free time except watch KZbin. Even playing video games is too much work for me. Forget about hobbies that require discipline like music or game design. On top of that i also have a ridiculously short fuse and lose my temper every single day at work. Apart from that i don't feel any emotions most of the time. Whether it's the job causing this or something else, in any case it's time for a break. Only two more weeks to go, then i'm starting my jobless healing phase.

hey there, yea that sounds like you're burnt out. I'm glad you are making the decision to prioritize your health and healing over a job. I wish you best of luck on your healing journey! Take care!

Maybe you aren't the best person to ask for this but what do you think of going to med school after quitting tech? my sister did it a long time ago and now making $700k as a radiologist, wfh, no politics like tech; 4 days a week of work (of course, you have to do well in med school to get into the top "lifestyle" fields
@andrewxu8 ай бұрын
Hey there, while I'm not familiar with what it's like in medical/radiology, I think it's important to be realistic about your expectations of the kind of stress a new field might bring as every industry/job comes with different kinds of stress. Try not to make your decision based on money and money alone. However, I'm a strong believer in taking action about one's unhappiness in life; life is just too short to live miserably, and there are so many different opportunities in life. Hope that helps, best of luck on your endeavours!
@SquarePenix.8 ай бұрын
@@andrewxu Thanks for your reply! Do you make enough money from KZbin to support your lifestyle now? You're living my dream haha.
@andrewxu8 ай бұрын
haha that would be nice, but it's not even close! I just treat KZbin as a hobby to bring together simple-livers and help people live a more peaceful life. My living expenses comes entirely from my savings and investments, and I made a video about how it works at a high level, called "FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early)", have a look if you're curious! I have plans to make some more content in that direction in the future, so stayed tuned :)
