Things To Do In BELGRADE Serbia. Belgrade Top 11. Belgrade is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, and a city with the most turbulent history. Belgrade was the first attacked city in the First World War and the last city in Europe to experience aerial bombing in 1999. It sits at the junction of two major European rivers, Sava and Danube and with its rich history, beauty, interesting communist architecture and amazing atmosphere is one of the most interesting places on the Balkans. This was the capital of Yugoslavia and is now the capital of Serbia. As a Beo resident, if you seen the infrastructure in Serbia, poor working conditions (most people have a few jobs). Witnessed the cowardly corruption and poor wealth dispersal, you'd realise, the government here would not give you 1 million fake dinars, never mind dollars.

Beograd means “white city”. Don’t quote me on this, but as far as I know the Belgrade fortress used to be white before the Ottoman invasion and it used to gleam in the sun and have a beautiful white reflection on the water and that’s how the name was born. Btw, I’ve been on a tour around Hungary a couple of months ago. Such a stunning country! 😍

I was a week in Belgrade this month after I went to my Grandparents in Zlatibor and it was a really cool experience, Belgrade for me was like a mix between cologne in germany, and eastern block feeling, really interesting and fun to go!
