Just watched your vid on the Cyprus Hills, had to watch this next. Lived in Medicine Hat from ‘67- ‘71. Great place to be a kid. Walking from Crestwood up on Dunlop Hill over the 7 Persons Creek all the way downtown to the Assiniboine Hotel for a 10 cent bottle of Coca Cola, skating up same creek past Kin Coulee to the trans Canada highway before turning around and skating back, swimming at the Rotary Pool. Don’t know how many times I walked up and down those streets downtown, surprisingly after 50 years I can still remember the landmarks in your vid. Man I had a great childhood. Thanks for the memories.

@@MustDoCanada you covered the pottery factory but I remember going to a glassworks there and was able to watch them blowing glass vases, bowls etc. It was cool to see and quite a tourist draw in 67.

Regarding the red rocks in the hills you commented on when padding, Where you entered the water, Echo Dale is on your right and the town of Redcliff is on your left. We were famous for our red bricks. I was married in that park on the edge of the river. Thank you for making this video. I've lived here most my life, and am so blessed for it.

I'm in the same boat, always drove past Medicine Hat on my way to BC, but finally decided to stop for an afternoon last year and was pleasantly surprised. :) By the way, if you two ever decide to come to Manitoba again, I strongly recommend Northern Manitoba, particularly around Flin Flon and Thompson. Pisew Falls is awesome, as is Paint Lake, both near Thompson, and Clearwater Provincial Park is honestly one of the most beautiful places I've been in Canada (near The Pas). Highly highly recommend!
@MustDoCanada3 жыл бұрын
That sounds super cool. We've pretty much only been to Winnipeg and Churchill, and Riding Mountain, so tons more to explore. And I bet it's largely off-the-beaten-track right?

I also lived in Fort Mac during the fires also! I remember you mentioned your uncle still has PTSD from it. Hopefully we can contain these fires in BC as well. Stay safe you guys!
