I'm glad you had a good time visiting Nevada, but I hope next time you can explore the west side of the state! Going up Highway 95 and the area west of 95 is such an adventure. Ghost towns, a car forest, abandoned brothels, mysterious back roads, remote hot springs...it's my favorite Nevada road trip so far. Must-sees are Beatty, Rhyolite, Goldfield, Tonopah and as many ghost towns as you can find. I've lived in the state for almost 20 years and still have a ton of things I want to see around here.

Yeah, I didn't know about the lake cave. Yeah, Nevada is actually really interesting. If you want nature, do southern or Eastern Nevada. If you want history, do western Nevada. You'll also be surprised by the amount of habitat diversity.

I FINALLY made it to this area! I now understand why you guys didn't see everything. It was SO packed when we got there, we couldn't even get parking at some of the sites, so we basically just stopped along the road and didn't do any trails. Maybe I will come during the low season and hike some of the trails. We got there pretty late in the day too, because we drove the loop in Red Canyon, because we wanted to see the rocks up close, but didn't realize we would have to pay, and there was a long line so once we pulled in we had no choice. But yeah, maybe we'll go back to Valley of Fire another time, when the days are longer and it's less crowded.

FYI red rock is a state park NOT a national park but nonetheless a beautiful place to visit...next time you visit vegas you should drive up to Zion national park & death valley national park...

I agree. There is much more to Nevada then Vegas and Reno. You guys missed the arch formstion and petroglyphs in Valley of Fire as well as the Lost City. And Red Rock Canyon is a STATE park. But yeah, you guys should visit Western or Eastern Nevada next time.

Oh, my bad. It says Red Rock Canyon is a national conservation area now. That's basically a national park. It must've become upgraded when Obama created all those new parks in the southwest. Yeah, I live in northern California so I visit Nevada often. I was just there 2 days ago. It's one of my favorite states now. Happy travels

Did you stamp your ACTUAL PASSPORT? The stamps are for united states national park passports(look them up), it's a little booklet you buy at any national park for like $25 and you can keep track of what parks you've been to. They are not Visa stamps and are not supposed to be put in your actual legal passport that allows you into other countries. The stamps are only for fun and only the booklet they sell at the parks. Not a legal Visa.

Thanks for letting us know about that Robert. It would be a great challenge to visit as many parks in the US as possible. We did put it in our real passports just for fun. We've done it now a few times such as when we visited Ushuaia (end of the world Patagonia), Machu Picchu and a couple others. We've never had an issue with it or heard it was problematic but one thing it does do is eat up the amount of space you have for legal stamps and visas. We've had to renew a couple of times early because we ran out of space.
