+Keith Trimm I'm not sure what you've been playing for you to consider time-based skill leveling so dominant that you seem to think every MMO has it. I've played more MMOs than I could ever hope to remember or count. Out of that large sample size I can only think of EVE and Black Desert as examples of time-based skilling. Yet even those 2 can't be compared because EVE is purely time based, while BD advancement comes from performing an activity for a period of time. If you want a missile skill in EVE you click that skill and then go do anything or even log out, regardless of what you do it will take a certain period of time to get the skill. - That's not a great system, and it's definitely not realistic. If you want to learn a fishing skill in BD you have to actually fish for a period of time. This system is the one that make sense.... the longer you fish, the better your fishing skill gets. It's time-based, sure, but it's also activity-based, which is what EVE lacks. Other than those 2 examples, almost all of the MMOs I've played have the generic level-up with exp and then assign or purchase skills system. That's "the norm" I would say, so I'm not sure why you think afk-stat boosting is so prevalent.

I think i'm talking about how professions are handled in current games. Going to collect X, Y and Z and pressing a button to create it. You do nothing other then fill bars and press buttons. If that's the game play you want; then we clearly want different things.

Exploring is using the tools available to you, both in game and out of game, to learn what you can so that you're self-sufficient when playing and can be the person providing the answers rather than asking the questions.

You should always keep white fish so you can process them or cook them. For lower level players, its a good source of money and I believe it will also increase your trading skill.

NA closed beta 2 they must have taken it out. You can only right click +alt to set an auto run waypoint but there's no (green) looping function.

I like the whole server not kicking your out anytime soon while you're afk thing. I thought the whole afk screensaver was a nice touch while I afk'd in a nice vista and watched a show then came right back to black desert.I like the idea of afk fishing too, I like games that let you achieve something while afk or nearby (say if you're studying or something). however I have no issues with them removing the autorun looping mechanic.. that'd be kinda annoying going through cities or towns and seeing afk players running back n forth, would kinda break the immersion imo.

This does not work anymore on the latest BDO EU/NA server as when you try to right click back it no longer goes green just leave sky lines everywhere sadly. Also afk fishing does not seem to be working either even though they left the small box to tick :(

I find this afk stuff kind of annoying. Now I feel like I must have this game running 24/7, which means my pc and gpu will be getting used 24/7. Not really good for your power bill or for your pc.

the only thing about auto fishing is people can steal you and take you lord knows where lol.... thats why when i auto fish i tend to climb up on top of the wood poles on the docks and auto fish from up high so they can run me over with their boat causing me to be on the boat... lol ive been watching some trolling videos of guys doing it to people!!! butt thanks for this... working on my strength now.... ^3^

+Robert Von Raccoon I love this feature. Why shouldn't MMOs give us piece of mind that we are progressing a little bit while at our jobs/school/etc? Makes the pull to spend hours upon hours online lessened. Way better for anyone with a balanced life.
