Have you ever looked into the seasonal feeding schedule. Power feeding in spring. light feeding to almost no feeding in the summer, light meals in fall then no food at all in winter? Seems there are old school chondro keepers who have had snakes live 20+ years with that style of feeding. But agree power feeding is a huge no no it seems. Good video man

I personally LOVE GTPs….I used to have many in my 20’s that I worked with, but now my lone specimen is a PUPPY DOG TAME roughly 2 year old Sorong locality. I’ve had him for about 9 months now and from the day I brought him home, he’s been unlike most other GTPs….you can pet him on his head, rub his chin, rub his neck area (most hate this) and he doesn’t even show a single defensive sign. His demeanor and beautiful blue dorsal pattern make him priceless…people that see him and hold him call him the Green Ball Python lol. I wish there were more out there like him! 🐍

You forgot to mention that they have heat sensing pits above their mouth all around so they basically have built in heat seekers so that’s one of the other reasons people get bit when go in to reach for them

I enjoyed listening to the information you have given us. I just got my first green tree python. Anyone have any other tips from experience. She's female around 2 years old and I would say is more docile compared to other green tree pythons. I'm able to hold her in my hand. She definitely went at my fingers the first time but after the first day she hasn't tried bitting me.

For neonates or babies, a lot of keepers like to keep them a bit warmer, like 84-86 and sprayed with water in the morning. I keep my adults at 84 ° on the hot spot and 80 at the cold spot with an average humidity of 60 to 75.

Everyone saying you csnt go in pick it up, so removable home out to bight light ain't no problem 😄 now for my question is there any one training these, target train choice based when awake & roaming around at night?. Got told no they cant be trained, but why not? Is it sleeping 23 h 50m everyday? Dosent it move at all, why shoudent able straining. my logical assumption is ofc anything is potentially possible, over time. No tap hook any form of training, or just one branche :b
@TheSnakeGawd
@TheSnakeGawd Жыл бұрын
I think the issue is humans thinking everything is meant to be "trained." Now again as stated in the video these snakes a fragile so they aren't meant to be handled continuously, as well as them have a strong feeding response. Also the simple fact that alot of these animals are imported from the wild plays a huge factor in temperament. So while I respect your "logical assumption" it doesn't trump my actual experience 👌🏾👌🏾

No ain't the issue at all im 30 and ndver had an amimal always though it was wired, the dogs i saw had rabies, but i do see your point & a pretty good one two ocupated my mind a cobble of seconds though one to swallow.. now you jump quick to the handling part after the training ? My target training dosent involves handling unless it's carefully redirection or places it shouldn't be, the combination would only make my hand to the new targets. Handling for vet visit, me getting concerned and wanting to treat for mites when its in fack pree shedding, changing water humid hide substrate, it's not a good enough a reason for handling or picking up my pyton, choice based handling the snake runs the show not you 360° turn. Never had reptiles before. Pricking up a scared snake will never be a problem you will always feel "in control" give me the madnes and biggest snake you got for 1 man & I can show you. But the long grace & thinking while slithering along you becurse the snake chooses. Is something to think about. Assuming we only do choice based handling ofcurse, cud it be possible to show it a target enoth with food presented shen the targetbks evolved & for the snake to acknowledge the target after enough sessions with the food? If so training is possible, not guci guci guci and potting training, don't handle it, okay I will handle it as mutch as my other snakes, if when,& where it wants. Talking about how it's fragile & that I shouldn't swap around the light from day to night. ???????? Noo DOGH!
