The income tax is always calculated on a yearly base. But there is a pre calculation from the company and also the social insurance have some extra rules. If it was only a summer job i guess you are below 11 673€ (the hole year) then you don t pay income tax but sovial insurance. You may get your taxes next year with the Lohnsteuerausgleich ( tax declaration)

I think it is not only an African thing calling people formally its an Anglophone thing e.g. in Africa- former British colonies. We tend to address people more formally whereas in other countries forst names are the norm even with your Boss.

Hello. You can check „öh salzburg wohnungsbörse“ , „wg-gesucht.de“. The „Studentenheim Salzburg“ also accepts short stays but it costs a bit more. „WIST Salzburg“ and „Egger Lienz Studentenheim“ also accept non students for the summer period. You need to start searching at least 3 months prior because the struggle for a place in Salzburg is real.

Yes…but they ask for the proof after you get here. Of course you’d have to show one at the embassy but that is basically a bank statement showing that you can afford to proof the funds when you get to Austria
