I'd love to visit Wien ,Vienna someday soon !!! I'm planning to !! It's been in my bucket list for such a long time !!! 💜🥁🐉🎤💞

So glad you all took the time to do Vienna right. It has so much to offer. Gonna bet you probably didn't get to Figlmueller for the best schnitzel (and largest) ever, but the food stalls at the Christmas Markets offer up some good stuff. Agree with you on the Sacher Torte. Not a big fan either. Looking forward to seeing more.

Ashley and I were just saying that we need to ask you where you have NOT been yet, because you’ve traveled to pretty much everywhere we’ve been so far! 😆 We really enjoyed our time in Vienna and didn’t realize how much there is to experience in the city. We didn’t make it to that restaurant, but I just looked it up and the schnitzel looks delicious - Ashley would LOVE it. -Jordan

@@KeepGoingPlaces Ha. By last count haven't been to Portugal (one day perhaps) or Spain (won't go, no real interest), Finland or Sweden and a few of the Balkans countries for Europe. Pre pandemic we tried to get to Europe twice a year (more if I can talk wife into it, oh and I lived in Germany for a few years as a teen). Don't travel any further east than that as I'd probably starve (read very picky eater) though will go to Israel and Jordan as soon as things clear up. Love seeing places I've been to or not through the eyes of others.

We'd love to visit Europe multiple teams each year; that's a good goal! Ah, we loved our time in Germany last winter, specifically Bavaria. I'd recommend Portugal for sure - we loved Porto. We also enjoyed our time in Spain, especially Cadaques and Seville, but we didn't enjoy the cuisine that much. Food is a big part of travel so that's understandable (although we love Asian and Middle Eastern food). Israel and Jordan are on our list to visit one day too. We cannot wait to be able to travel freely again. -Jordan

Actually the Sachertorte was not invented at the Hotel Sacher...it was invented at the imperial court bakery Demel in 1832 by Eduard Sacher who was baker apprentice at Demel´s and made it for Demel´s and it was very first made as a commissionary work for a ambassador dinner of Prince Metternich who ordered for that special occasion "a special cake" and since then it was always part of Demel´s range of goods...and decades later Eduard Sacher founded the Hotel...therefore there were then always 2 "Original Sachertorte" in Vienna..one at the Hotel and one at Demel´s...But after the Hotel was taken over by an other family 7 years of lawsuits started initiated by the new owners of the Hotel in the 1930ties about "who has the right for the Original" and because both parties had justified demands proofed with documents so at last there was made at court a typical Austrian agreement which said "both"..but there is a difference about those 2 kinds of "Sachertorte" ...In the Hotel the Sachertorte has 2 layers of apricot jam and a round signet of origin saying "Original Sachertorte"...Demel´s has just one layer of apricot jam and a triangular signet of origin saying "Eduard Sacher Torte" and amongst Viennese "Demel´s Sachertorte" is colloquial called "The real one" and it is although it has just one layer of apricot jam in general not that dry than the one in the Hotel. As consequence local Viennese tend more to buy the Sachertorte at Demel´s because it is not that dry and "the real one" while Tourists are experiencing the Sachertorte more at the Hotel because they don´t know better. But at the end it is a matter of taste of course. And for me personally the best Sachertorte was the one my Grandma made anyway.

I disagree with you for saying " tourists goes to the Sacher hotel more ( for the original Sacher torte ),because they don't know better "!! Japanese ( I am Japanese myself ,too ) people have gotten real gourmet tongues ( in general )& know the differences & we love the original ones better !!! I can't speak for the comparison much as I've never been there to try 'em out ,but I have had the real original one selling in Tokyo & other versions in the U.S.here in L.A. ,but I loved the original one so much better !!! I couldn't stop eating it & finished more than a half of the whole cake all by myself in a couple of days !!! LOLLOLLOL Yes !! 1st ,I was bothered by the dryness & didn't think that was that great ,or anything !! Then ,soon after that I found myself digging it like obsessed with it !! Lol.💜🥁🐉🎤💞

Actually ,the son of the pastry chef Franz Sacher who invented the torte started the Sacher hotel ,so it's absolutely fair to say Sacher hotel's Sacher torte is " THE ORIGINAL " !!! And that's why they'rethe only one has that Sacher logo on the chocolate torte !!! Demel started by the branch of the Sacher's family .💜🥁🐉🎤💞
@michaelgrabner89773 жыл бұрын
@@spark_6710 Actually you are wrong. Franz Sacher´s Torte was different. The Sacher Torte which is selled as "Original Sacher Torte" is Eduard´s creation. And he created it while he was employed by Demel and as such his Torte was then part of Demel´s range of goods. Yes Eduard was inspired by Franz´s Torte but changed the recipe in order to make a different one. Would the Hotel sell Franz´s Torte as "Original Sacher Torte" then that wouldn´t had let to a 7 years lawsuit in the 1930ties after the Hotel was owned by a different owner who bought the Hotel from the Sachers and then started to sue because they would have selled "Franz´s Torte" while Demel would have selled "Eduard´s Torte" but they didn´t both always selled just Eduard´s Torte.. And again Demel selled Eduard´s Torte first since the middle of the 1860ties even before the Hotel was built in 1876...and because of that we Viennese call Demel´s Sachertorte which is labeled "Original Eduard Sachertorte" colloquial "The real one" and that´s how it is and ever was in Vienna it is a factual estimation for Viennese no matter what your "opinion" - as someone not being a Viennese - is where ever you are and who ever you are...When you like the taste of the Hotel´s Torte more then it is fine but the vast majority of us Viennese don´t...and when someone comes to Vienna in order to experience the original food culture of Viennese then he has to go to Demel for the Sachertorte and has to give the Hotel a wide berth because that´s what we Viennese do because it is a pure tourist´s place simply not worth to stand in line for an overpriced dry cake, because there are enough other places who are selling a good made delicious Sachertorte as well..not only the Hotel or even Demel.

Well for us it could be to enjoy the architecture, to see a historical place without spending money or time, or maybe to stroll a new city. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻
