I live on a narrowboat, and it is usual to have a stovetop kettle, as most boats are off grid, so to me it's not odd to not have an electric kettle. Do you know the cost of heating water on the cooker instead of in an electric kettle? On average it is 6p to boil a full electric kettle

Apart from the coffee, of which I drink 1 cup a day, I also don't buy any of the stuff you don't buy.😂We could have been twins.

Yes, one cup a day - so long as that cup is at least 20oz! Buying "drinks" in shops, is pricey and sometimes the quality is poor - or it is loaded with sugar, carbs and nonsense! Water can be fine. Tap water, maybe not. Eating out is social ... though spending loads on drinks and what not is so 2019!

Loved this, thank you 😊 I’m interested in what you use to keep food in the freezer? I absolutely hate buying the plastic zip lock bags but other tubs etc take up too much room in my freezer. I just wish there was an alternative reusable thing for freezing food!

I use silicone bags for the freezer/food storage. I have bought from Amazon & Temu and have not found much of a difference other than price.

Honestly I use ziplock bags but clean and reused as much as possible and then I also just use whatever spare tubs I have. Nothing fancy. ☺️

The way the wine tastes is very important when you’re cooking. If you don’t want to buy a nice wine just use stock instead
