I’m from Mexico and I’m going to puerto peñasco soon to buy property. I can feel the warmth of the beach and sand. I hope more younger Mexican Americans do the same as their European American counterparts

It’s so sad how they’ve overbuilt Mexico we used to go down there in the mid to late 90s and that had not happened yet. There was only a little but when I went back, it was horrible. I have not been back since.

Cute kitties. Great video, I'm heading there in a few months so I'm watching videos about Peurto Penasco.

Really nice people here, great resorts, and good food. Horrible roads, and lots of poverty in town.

I visited the wonderful beach in 2006 boom times there, more of a suburb of Phoenix then. Good sea food locale restaurants in old town, stayed away from the Mega resorts not my thing. I may return someday. thank you stay safe ALL

Is there a way to share info on your nightly rental. My wife and I would love to find a quiet place away from music and people. Thanks

You can get in touch with this woman who owns the rentals: RomyWatkin@yahoo.com.

Words to the wise,just got back from rocky point and it was the worst experience of my life. I have been there many times but this time it was different, not a lot of tourists and the economy is falling . I was pulled over by the local police and was given a $160 fine for tinted windows, also there was two other American citizens there there was sided for tinted windows as well. Local police started following cars with American plates and pulled them over. the bored walk was no different people we’re getting their vehicles booted in the parking lot , this is the new hustle in town. Never again

I received a 5mph speeding ticket in the border town Sonoyta in 2023, my brother was ticketed for too wide tires without mud flaps, another for speeding in the border town. I will be driving very cautiously in Sonoyta from now on. These facts wont deter me from still visiting the wonderful Rocky Point and its incredible fall season sunsets.

Wow, it has really changed. We used to go there my friend and I two girls in the 90s never had any problems. I’m fluent in Spanish but would tip the guys when they would stop us at the tolls. Just seems everything has changed like everything everywhere.

It has to be the wealthier people because regular Americans cannot afford that. I’ve noticed, according to Wikipedia that it has been the Millionaires & Billionaires buying up property in prime places...like Maui, for instance. I hope they will consider & truly help the displaced locals there. 🙏🏼

Where do the Mexicans actually live? What are their colonias called?
@Se6b74 ай бұрын
Most videos about peñasco don't show them because they're basically tons of houses in dirt roads and that's it, they don't show even the central colony. About the names, it's kind of confusing because it isn't a very straight forward thing, but ehh, they mostly look the same so don't bother. Something to add is the sharp constrast in houses, in one road you will find a run down house and next to it a two story house, and across the road a traditional mexican one, which is one of the things shows how divided is Puerto Peñasco in terms of money. Although im still hopeful Peñasco is gonna get improved... someday

I don't like when access is cut off to locals such as natural areas like the beach,.same thing happening in Jamaica. I wouldn't patronize those resorts.

It's in Sonora, one of the major cartel locations. In late August, two elderly women, ages 72 and 82, were shot to death while driving from Arizona, south into Sonora. They were found dead in their overturned, bullet-riddled vehicle. The US State Department has issued a travel advisory telling people to reconsider travel to Sonora due to crime including kidnapping.

Lmao you’ll be fine I always go every month or so as long as you don’t involve yourself in shady business. The cartels protect and take care of the Americans because their business and tourism
