I just bought my first Bianch, about 2 months ago (Aria). I still remember being introduced to them, and the iconic Celeste #227, back in the early 80's, which was around the time of their 100th anniversary. I ordered a Bianchi catalog through Bicycling magazine just to marvel at their bikes, hoping to one day be able to purchase/own one. So this has been a long time coming, and if I had a bucket list, this would definitely have been on there. Rides like a dream, and is one hell of an efficient climber! Best bike that I've ever been on, or had the pleasure to have purchased. Lunga vita a Bianchi!

Man, one day I hope to follow suit and get my first Bianchi. I live my BMC but there is something magic about this brand...
@Stratulax3 жыл бұрын
@@stormrider1119 There are other brands to consider as well.all magical for different reasons, check out Colnago and Pinarello as well. If I could, and if I had a bigger house and a lot more money, I'd have at least one of each. Like maybe a Pinarello Grevil for a gravel bike. Hmmmm.....

I've owned 4 different Bianchi's! Loved how it's the oldest bike brand still in existence, so much rich history to it. I still have my Pista, Via Nirone, but have sold my two Intenso's - I still regret selling my 130th anniversary Intenso frame, which was also in Celeste Blue! I would trade my Pinarello Dogma for it anyday!

First racing bike was a Bianchi and it was, of course, Celeste 224 or, as we called it: men's room green. The frame hangs in the rafters awaiting rebuild as does my Bottecchia - circa 1989! But Campagnolo will NEVER go on these! Every Cramp-and-Go-Slow component I brought wore out or broke. Naw, mate, as a cheap chicken Cat 3, I hoarded high end racing Dura Ace and durable 105 parts. These two bikes will be rebuilt to combat specs with stuff that have never failed me...from 36° MA-40s I built my self to 105 brakes and NO pimp shifters.

Another fun fact about Bianchis famous greenyblue. As a company they aren’t able to give a colour code for their products as every frame is a slightly different shade of the same colour depending on who mixed the paint. I ordered in some forks under warranty once and they were much darker than the originals, safe to say Bianchi didn’t give a shit when the customer was complaining to them . When I was chatting to their uk sales rep and brought this up he said it always happens. As he was an Italian native he just said it’s the “Italian passion” and all high end Italian products have a “perfectly imperfect” quality to them. We had one of pantanis bikes on display in the shop for a while as well. A few people from head office had a tour at Bianchi hq and they said afterwards there is a bike graveyard section, as any frames that aren’t sold are just chucked in this section and left to rot, as they refuse to have an end of line sale before new product comes out to get rid of the frames they’d rather get full price for them or not sell them. Pretty shitty company to be fair
@normadicn57005 жыл бұрын
Most designer companies do this whether its clothing or whatever. They refuse to do sales and would rather their products rot or burn them.
@spainobmxer695 жыл бұрын
Normadic N most designer companies have outlet stores now for selling last years stock. Even though it would be more understandable to do it with clothing as a £75 t shirt costs about £3 to make, where as a bianchi frame would be about £600 at trade. Every other bike brand would drop trade price by 20% at the end of July for end of year sales to make way for the new stock arriving in September
@normadicn57005 жыл бұрын
@@spainobmxer69 true but Rutland cycles seem to have some last year Bianchi allroad Sora bike at 750£ and its claimed to be discounted. I really don't know about bikes to be honest and just looking for gravel bikes to commute during winter

@@JoseGomez-vn7hn so basicly I worked at the goodwill at the time, my job was receiving donations and pricing them, specifically bikes, TVs, exercise equipment etc. So this old lady donated it not knowing what it was, I priced it for 20$ and called my wife, she showed up and grabbed it the second I put it out on the floor, it was a 50% off day so it was $10 got some really amazing deals using that heist system

The Bianchi;s sold out to Fiat in the 1950's and moved to New South Wales Australia and became farmers, the Great Grandson James Bianchi lives in Coffs Harbour NSW and has a freight empire , the story about the colour is not what he told me, but then again the truth is a bit risque !!! . The Australian connection is another story,this like many things on you tube , another tale that leaves out much of the story.

The color origins are interesting, having worked for Bianchi & discussed this with family members, it's not the Sky, it's not cheap paint, it wasn't he eyes but you're on the right track, apparently it was more a private joke, you have to imagine what might have been made in that color by luxury brands..................the crest of royal appointment followed soon after....We WERE amused.
