I have recently started 2 strand twist/ interlocking... (entering my second month) Of course, I have 4C hair probably 3inches long. I have been doing 3 times per week leave-in conditioner (aloe vera and fenugreek then seal with my oils). On a daily basis I spritz with water, peppermint oil and seal with my oil. Wash every 2 weeks and retie 6 to 8 weeks depending on my growth. I started out on my own and went to a professional to get my second retie done (just to ensure that I am on the right path). Can you give some tips on 2 strand twist, mirco/ interlocking? As for my diet, I try to drink alot of lemon water, I boil my water before putting it in my hair, I take vitamins (biotin). Not much of exercise to be honest. Please advice.

@@newgrowthnaturals to be completely honest I'm considered a lazy natural. My hair is in braids all year round . I keep it in between 1-2 months at a time. Then i remove them and wash with regular shampoo and deep condition and do a protein treatment and oil with an oil mix of coconut and castor oil before getting braids a few days after wash day. My hair has always flourished from braids I'm currently at below bra strap length but i have reached a platue 2yrs now and just gave up.
@olyviajazzmyne76334 жыл бұрын
I rarely detangle but when i do i mostly finger detangle and use a paddle brush sometimes with conditioner . And also to add I've tried a few regiments over the years but didn't make a difference so i stopped buying fancy sulphate free shampoos and conditioners caz they didn't do anything different to my hair and also i do not have much visible shedding or breakage from the braids so im at a loss as to why im stuck.

However my hair is very dry prone to break and can knot up so I feel like I need to deep condition every once week to keep it from being dry and knotted. My question is how do you keep a protective style longer than a week if i need to deep conditioned every once a week? Thanks in advance for answering

Hello I was hearing different advice from a cosmetologist and she was was basically saying a person shouldn’t detangle on wet hair because when the hair is wet the hydrogen bonds are broken and a person can cause more breakage that way she was talking about detangling with oil and talked about how to comb the hair the way you did.
